If I've learned anything from all these years of being stuck in gaming's past, it's that the quality of the game bears very little on what people will pay for it in the future.

That's a bold statement. I have not spent much time with it, but I thought the art direction was at least interesting.
I liked the art, but it looks 1000X better in screenshots than it does in action.
Everything else was an assault on my being. Music, controls, voicework, etc. I can enjoy stupid fun games (e.g. Suda stuff like NMH or SotD), I can tolerate a certain amount of stereotyping (most fighting games), and I obviously play a lot of stuff...but Madworld is bottom of the barrel horribleness all around. it was insulting.

I guess I will have to try and play my copy. You are actually the first I have heard with such a negative view.

It's just typical modern day Sega bullshit.

Madworld music and voicework were very generic. However the art direction was unique (even if annoying to some) and it stands out on the Wii specifically for its unique in your face gore to the console. Gameplay had a classic dreamcast feeling to it and Boss battles were unique in their incorporation of the motion controls (particularly the cowboy boss). I think the game is so cheap because the majority of gamers on the Wii are not the right market for such a game. But I think down the line gamers would want to have it in their collection simply by its uniqueness to the console and it will be seen as an underrated game.

Sonic colors may not be worth much in the future, but it is the perhaps the first of the current gen games to successfully combine the classic sonic gameplay with the 3D version of sonic all while keeping it unique and fun. I am not sure how it would hold up price wise, but for those who will know about it will know its worth quality wise.

So why are we talking about it? Or MadWorld, for that matter?
Thread title is about Rare/Valuable Wii Games. Neither of these games is either of those things.
This isn't a thread about Wii games that we think are good...
