I test drove one of the V6 models on a wim when I was looking into buying cars a few months ago, and everything about it just didn't feel good. Almost everything was "ok enough" if I had to describe it. However, the transmission felt absolutely terrible. The engine wasn't particularly smooth though it was punchy enough.

Above all though, it was just uninspiring.

It was a few years old though. Maybe the new ones have improved.

I haven't driven one before but was thinking about getting in a few years. I guess not now though or not as much. On paper the car sounds damn good. Is there a certain type of cars you like?

The GTR is also nearly 100k, so a car most people will never own or drive.
He didn't call me out. He in no way can prove that Muscle cars are better than Imports/tuners. The only way he can call me out is by proving with numbers and math that muscle cars are better. Which isn't really possible since it's a opinion. :D
I never said anything was better than another. (Except the Shelby over the GTR, and that was only because you brought it up.) I just said American cars sound better. Even then, you need a bit of tinkering to get it right. Of course, I'm also one that likes the way it sounds when you cut the pipes off right at the headers. Or straight piping, or glass packs, or cutting a ghetto hole in the muffler.

I ran an AutoX without my muffler on my Miata. Loud, obnoxious, and fun.

He said that you called me out and I clarified to him that you did not. Dude, If the Lancer Evo just barley lost to the Shelby GT, then the GTR would tear it a new one. It called Godzilla for a reason.

The GTR is a 100k dollar car while the Shelby is less than 60k. Different class of vehicle.

I was comparing what I believe to be a higher end muscle to a higher end import/tuner. Btw You can pick up a GTR with 40,000> miles for 55k-65k.

The Shelby, as of 2013, has about 55 more horses. Now, a lot more goes into than that of course, but considering the price difference I'd be quite happy. I'm not really sure what all they do for performance on the newer stuff, (is it like on the new diesels where chips and programmers are a big deal? or is mechanics still a major thing?) but with $40K I could pretty easily hop it up to run like a scalded ass dog.

And of course, that horsepower rating is comparing 2013 to 2013 straight off the floor. I didn't look at the older ratings.

Also, what is the difference between an import, a tuner, and a rice burner? Imports seem kind of obvious, but what about the other 2?

Three pages of garbage and not a post with picture of what one actually drives. I guess those who don't own a car just pull info off Google and just rant nonsense. Mine is buried back in one of the pages, thru searching might give an idea what this Thread is supposed to be about.

@ oxymoron - Prove your knowledge. Guess my avatar before looking back on the pages.
