decided to throw in Ridge Racer for a while. I'm going to say that the game is beat once you get 1st place in all 4 difficulties. I'm not really sure how else to figure it. So far, I've come in 1st in Beginner.

Damn, BlazBlue is a long game. I just finished Jin's story, and it easily took me around 2 hours to 100% it. Still worth it for the excellent story, though.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
Finally figured out where to go on FFXII. I walked right by two men and their Chocobo several times without even noticing them and apparently they are integral for progression. After clearing that up and getting a free Chocobo ride out of those nice men, I was finally able to track down Mjrn...... But on the way there I got ambused by 6 or 7 Flan and they actually killed me. Which meant I was out about 45 minutes of game time. Lame. I took a break before attempting the Flan infested dungeon again.
This time I got to Mjrn and fought a boss and found it fairly easy. Only a few screens later and I was fighting another boss though. And this one was freakin annoying. He would cast like 6 status effects on my entire party at the same time. And this seemed to happen everytime I got him down about 1/5 of his life. Its a big pain when everyone has Blind, Silence, Confuse, Sap, Oil, Poison, etc on them. Once someone smacked their teamate out of confuse I was able to toss an Echo Screen on them and then finally cast Esuna on each character only to repeat that annoying process every minute or so. I was literally out of Phoenix Downs, Ethers, MP, had two out of 4 dead characters and the remaining 2 characters had 42/2000ish and 400/2000 HP left when I dealt the final blow. It was one of the closest fights I've ever had in an RPG. I'm really glad I didnt have to repeat the fight, especially after already repeating a dungeon today.
Worked my way up to the next save after that and bought some new equipment (including a double LP accessory for each character I'm using) before calling it a day. Should be a bit further but those stupid Flans really got me good. Gonna try and play a little more defensively from now on so I dont go through that again.

I think that's how I counted it too. Did you play the mini-game at the stat?noiseredux wrote:decided to throw in Ridge Racer for a while. yeah, but I didn't QUITE beat it. You get like an extra car or something if you beat it, right?

Quite a few extra cars, actually. It is not too tough after a few tries, and the extra cars are well worth it.noiseredux wrote:you mean Galaga?dsheinem wrote: I think that's how I counted it too. Did you play the mini-game at the stat?![]()

nice. Yeah I almost beat it on my first try actually. Think I was 3 shots away.
I must say Ridge Racer is way better once you get the feeling for it. At first I felt like it was really hard to control. And I still find drifting a bit wonky. But I can handle corners way better now. Even though it's technically only one big track, it's really a super impressive game for a launch title. I like it enough that I'll probably check out some of the sequels.
