Post proof that you're passing retro on to the kids!

So I was playing some Sonic 2 + Knuckles when my 3 year got up from his nap. He comes into the room and sees me playing as Knuckles. He watches the screen for about 10 seconds in silence and then asks me "Where is the blue one?" I reply, "Do you mean Sonic?" He says yes.

I can't recall playing any Sonic the Hedgehog games in his presence. I haven't had my Genesis very long and I only got it out previously to test it. I think I may have passed on gaming knowledge genetically! That or he saw the box art for the other Sonic games and recognized the art style. He is a perceptive little guy.

This thread made me smile all the way through. Work tonight has only been bearable because of it.
I have a little girl (16mo) that loves "playing" Sonic the Hedgehog. Although, she only knows how to make him move and jump, and doesn't actually know what she's doing. She recently found my old Gameboy Advance in the closet and barely puts it down. She insists on calling Sonic a "blue kitty", so we'll have to work on that.

I'll see if I can find some pictures of her playing, or snap some of ther weekend.

Sure is. That was our first visit, and wasn't too long ago. Mostly ran into over-priced resellers, but found a few goodies in the back. When I collected classic consoles as a kid I'd go to our local "Game Trader" and stop at a garage sales whenever I got the chance. This was my first venture into a big Flea Market.

We'll probably be heading back at the end of the month, or beginning of April.

I wouldnt bother with traders village much anymore. I gave up on games there now. Last 3 trips I left empty handed. I only have had 1 good trip there. The resellers buy up all the garage seller tables. Check out some others around town.

We're pretty new to the area, and that one seemed to be the most 'Family friendly' out of the ones we looked at. It was also the closest to where we currently live.

I'd agree though, other than some nice toys back at the tables it was reseller hell. Any suggestions?

(More pics coming soon. We just got our Model 1 Sega Genesis, and she was amazed by the thing. She was trying to hook it up by herself, and wouldn't set the controller down for anything. Feels good to be collecting again.)
