After a bit of down time, I'n back on my four job fiesta run of Final Fantasy V.
As a reminder, the rules of this run means I can only use 4 randomly selected jobs: in my case these are Thief, Berserker, Geomancer and Dragoon.
I just took down the boss of the water temple place in world 3, and next up is the fork tower. Taking out minotaur in the physical tower should be easy as I have lots of physical power (magic is nulled in his tower), but omniscient in the magic tower is going to be a lot harder (hitting him with physical moves him cast a spell that resets the battle, and I have no magical moves - even the geomancer 'magic' counts as physical).
So my current thinking for the tower is that the best chance I have against Omniscient is to reflect all his spells against him with reflect rings an kill him the slow way. He does however cast buffs on himself, including regen, so generally the more reflect using characters the better. My berserker absolutely HAS o go the physical tower route, as he'll attack Omniscient and reset the battle otherwise. Therefore, attempt one will be to try and solo the physical tower with JUST my berserker alone. Should I manage that, the other three can run up the magic tower using their reflect rings to kill everything. Here goes nothing...
What RPG are you playing right now?

After finishing Phantasy Star II I am now inspired to play Phantasy Star IV!
Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I'm playing Chrono Trigger on my ds. I've never finished it and I'm in the camp, all by myself I think, that prefers Chrono Cross, but I'm still enjoying it. I spent an hour trying to beat the bosses of the underwater palace, basically they would take out my whole team before I could even attack half the time and the other half I would get half way through the battle and screw up by attacking instead of healing.
Well I finished that battle and got captured then got free and was flying around in the epoch going to places I hadn't been only to walk into a boss fight that I shouldn't have been in. I hadn't saved since I got captured so my ds is now sitting on the other side of room after I threw it on the couch in disgust. Oh well it shouldn't be that bad to get back to where I was but still I'm mad that I walked into that boss fight and got hosed.

No. I don't remember what time period I was in I think it was 65 mill BC but I do remember I was in the sun temple and the boss looked like a red blob with six fireballs surrounding it.
I do love that the victory music from cross is from trigger and pops up every once and awhile. The main place I know of is when you win the race in the future.

Ah yes. I believe that boss is optional, and can be fairly tough.
Don't give up on the game though.

I don't plan on it.
I'm wondering with all the praise the game gets should I be in love with the game, story and characters yet? I mean everyone just seems so bland. I think I liked Cross because I felt more connected to the characters and world in Trigger, it's just kind of blah to me and I don't feel a connection to anything except Frog and Chrono.
Editing in the bold: yes I know how stupid that sounds since there's what fifty party members in the game. I don't know everyone felt more fleshed out to me.

Interesting reaction.
Chrono Trigger is my second-favorite JRPG of all time. The only game I like more is FFVI. Chrono Cross is kinda meh as far as I'm concerned.

You take that back!! No I understand that's the general reaction to the game but to me the world just felt more alive. The games art/graphics and music also just blew me away when I first played it. It is definitely my favorite 32 bit rpg by a long shot, but I can probably count on one hand how many rpg's I played in that era.

Nostalgia/initial reaction affects us all in some way I think. I played Chrono Trigger at launch and it blew me away. Didn't play Chrono Cross until 2010 or so and didn't care for it.
