Why would your mother be fired for dismissing the notion that she had a work shift she hadn't been properly informed of by the appropriate means of communication for such things? That's idiotic. Someone in HR should be fired for accepting that as legitimate.

Sure it gives the world what Jem would be as if it was done today - She would get famous on the internet virally then get a real contract. Lets face it, the plot of the original would not make for a good movie. But they could have handled it all better.
While I do agree it's far from ideal, I'd rather reserve judgement for AFTER I see this.

And while a film wouldn't be the best vehicle for a Jem reboot, a live-action television series would.

I'd start with the opening scene with Rio finding out that Jem is really Jerrica. When he confronts Jerrica, she asks Rio to allow her to explain, and then she begins to explain everything since her father died (thus mirroring the events from the pilot of the original show).

And we wouldn't come full circle until the final episode of the penultimate season. Then the final season would focus on a logical conclusion to Rio's discovery and ultimately an endgame.

:D I've been pretty busy past few days, but my move went really well on Saturday! Got a little lost because the GPS was being kind of dumb, but we eventually got to the apartment. The border could of gone better, as both of the border people that we talked to (two because we took a ferry over) were VERY confused about how I was coming across. I went across a little early so I had to come across as a visitor and cross again later as a student and the border guys weren't sure that was allowed or not. But we cleared it up so it was fine (but stressful at the time gah).

My boyfriend also got a couch and dining set for the apartment so hopefully it will start looking a little more homey soon :)

:/ Still a ton more unpacking to do! Lack of shelf space and the heat have been making it go pretty slowly ><;

:( For some reason I decided to get annoyed at a driver for honking at me. The man, quite rightly, replied that he wasn't honking me, but honking to alert drivers on the single-lane road around the corner that he was coming.

I feel very stupid and it was unusually vindicate of me. It sucks.

Eh, don't feel too bad. Honking is literally the car version of a Tourette's outburst; you really have no idea what it means most times. Unless you're stopped a green light.

The thing is, even if he did in fact honk at me, I gain nothing by confronting him like I did.

A momentary release of anger that may have come out in an even more destructive fashion later? IDK, I'm just trying to spin a positive for ya. :mrgreen:

They would, but the city manager supports this happening, as he doesn't much like my mother either. People who make waves in this town generally don't last long.

This happens a lot where I live. I don't know if it is a Southern thing where honking is rude, but if you're sitting at a green light for over three seconds, you're getting a wake up honk.

First I give a "polite honk". Which is a quick *beep beep*.

If that doesn't work, a give a solid *hoooooooooooooooooooooooooonk*

A few years ago a guy was sitting at a green light for at least five seconds. I gave the polite honk, and he flipped me the bird. I still wonder what the guy was thinking. People also tend to get very angry when I honk at them when I have the right of way, especially if they're running a red light.

Smile: There is a local attorney who has a tv commercial stating "Did you know the intersection of arlington and red banks accounts for the most accidents in Greenville?". The best thing about the commercial is that the lawyer says this while standing in the middle of that same intersection.
