The problem is that I really, really need to study. I have to study three whole subjects for September 1. I can go out and have some semblance of social life, but I can't get involved in anything bigger than that until I'm done.Ack wrote:Might I suggest looking around for classes on some kind of hobby. Scuba diving, acting, baking, painting, anything that will get you out of the apartment and interacting with folks. It almost doesn't matter what it is, so long as you do it.
Oh, I'm doing fine in that regard, it's simply that everyone leaves in August. I'm not kidding when I say my town looks like a ghost town, specially while the sun is still high in the sky.Luke wrote:Make friends, don't try to find them.

I was going to say you only need to show your passport and you are in but then I remembered the US gets retinal scans of visitorslaurenhiya21 wrote:Tomorrow I move to the States! I'm super excited despite being really nervous about the border and traffic. Hopefully I'll actually sleep tonight!

^I didn't know the US did retinal scans o_o I've done the full body scan, face photo, and maybe finger prints but that was only at the airport so that's not what I'm worried about.
I just don't like how intimidating they are and how they always manage to ask a question I wasn't prepared for. Plus I'm hoping they don't want to search the car, since that would delay the trip quite a bit, but they didn't when I first moved down so maybe they won't?
Plus I always worry that they'll send me back, even if they've never done that with me before and I doubt they would have a reason to do so. Just silly irrational thinking >,<;

I have never been across the US-Canada border. Is it usually a long wait? Where are you headed in the US?laurenhiya21 wrote:Tomorrow I move to the States! I'm super excited despite being really nervous about the border and traffic. Hopefully I'll actually sleep tonight!

Ha, I wish it was that easy to get a citizenship!MrPopo wrote:Here's all you need to know for your citizenship test:
Really depends on when you go, where you cross, and how you cross. Most of the time for me (if I'm going by car) it's been a 30-45min wait, but I've waited as little as 10mins and as long an ~1hr.marurun wrote: I have never been across the US-Canada border. And I'm heading to the Seattle area
