I heard there was a Fire Emblem edition of the new 3DSXL and thought "Finally. My patience has paid off. They're finally releasing LEs that I've been holding out for." Then I see it doesn't come with the game. Oh well, it's understandable. Then I see the design. I almost fell asleep. This is such a 'so close, yet so far' moment. I wanted an LE version, Fire Emblem would've been my choice, and they have to use the lamest design possible.

Oh well, I'll hold out longer for something else. Maybe there will be one with a game included that I like.

So the last 3ds game I beat was Link Between Worlds. Whats come out since then that is hot, and not an SRPG (ie Fire Emblem) or social game (ie Animal Crossing)? I know I need to get Majoras Mask.

Smash Bros.? Kirby Triple Deluxe? Code Name S.T.E.A.M.? IMO, all of the most exciting new 3DS games have been released through the eShop. (Alien on the Run is fantastic!)

I don't really know what your personal tastes are. But ALBW released in 2013, and these are the games I picked up for 3DS since then (excluding SRPGs):

If you enjoy Saga styled JRPGs.


It's a big fat classic styled JRPG.


If you enjoy roguelikes.


If you enjoy hardcore dungeon crawlers.


If you enjoy Persona and dungeon crawlers.


Wraps up the second Layton trilogy.


I mean, how can you NOT buy this? Created and directed by Shu Takumi himself!

Im not planning on buying that one any time soon. I did purchase Majora though because of course I did.

My number one most anticipated 3DS game is...

Verified to be coming stateside this year, with a brand new translation no less.

I just ordered The Legend of Legacy through Amazon. Hilarious title though not as bad as Two Worlds II, Beyond the Beyond, or Revengers of Vengeance I suppose.

Looking forward to playing it in 2025 or so.
