That was the whole reason I bought a PC Engine Duo. Heck, I bought a copy of Ys Book 1 & 2 before I even bought a PC Engine Duo since they had a complete copy at a local retro game store for $50. I also ended up getting Ys 3 from the same store for $70. No idea if they're cheaper on ebay, but it's also nice to support local retro stores. They just have no luck getting the hardware for the Turbo/PC Engine. Everything they get is broken.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Ys: Books I & II alone is reason enough as far as I'm concerned. It's the main reason I want one.

Assuming you bought those recently, those are great prices.
I also got Ys Book I & II for $50 but that was several years ago. By the time I got Ys III the price was in the triple digits.
I've purchased all of my CD games online. Never see that stuff for sale around here.

I'm not one for fighting games, but I got to try out Asuka 120% Maxima BURNING Fest the other day and I gotta say, it's pretty good! Will I end up someday buying a PCE game that's not an RPG? Maybe!

I'm up to stage 135 on Populous and...umm, stage 4 on Dragon Spirit.
I'm using the 2 Credit cheat on the latter. I think with the 100 Continues cheat I might be able to beat it!I tried the ridiculous "arcade mode" cheat that involves resetting the console 57 times straight to get a higher definition display but, ironically, it made the game look like crap on my HD TV so I think I'll stick with the regular mode.
Interesting that so many PC Engine shooters have this as a hidden mode though!

Ok so who's going to mail me a very nice Duo or at least a TG16 with a pre-flipper price value from 5-6years ago?
I keep tabs on this thread and it's like just a mean tease.
Everdrives are nice, but emulators work in a pinch too.
I do miss playing the Gate of Thunder CD with the added hidden (and not) HuCard goodies, the bomberman games, Neutopia was cool, Ninja Spirit, and so on. Always felt this system was better than the Genesis back then, nicer library and looked/sounded better too. Confused me why it bombed other than bungled NEC moves to get into the market better.

I'm still wanting a Duo myself. I did discover, however, that one of my Saturn games is worth mad bank: Mega Man 8: Anniversary Edition. I've got the PSX version, and while the Saturn version is a bit better, I don't know that it's $300 better.
Actually, I could also turn around and spend that money on a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga. Hey, anyone want to trade?
