I've only played it once, but it seemed alright to me. Are there any particular versions of this one that aren't going to work? I've got it on PS2, PSP and MAME. There's also a oXbox version too.

Its appearance on Capcom Classics Collections is also a plus.

So I literally just fired up MAME for the first time ever 10 minutes ago. I have a few questions.

I tried some WASD control action and it wasn't happening. I'll have to try to configure a controller. Will a corded 360 controller work?

Is there a good hot key to reset after you piss away your one credit?

Is there a screen shot function built in to post scores?

I can look this stuff up and play with it more, I just figured I'd ask the pros for a quicker answer.

Oh and BTW I'm using 1.41 as recommended earlier...

Go back to page 22 of this thread, Omerta.

The trick, for me, was to have the corded stick/controller when you power up yr pc / MAME.

From there, the first game you go into, hit "TAB", go into the first option of player 1 controls, it'll bring you to "up" first, hit "ENTER" to clear the field, then hit "up" on your pad or joystick, repeat this step and it should work automatically for all games after that. Granted, i'm only 3 for 3 so far and have had major headaches in the past with getting controllers to work.

Also...Eco Fighters? Ugh. Not a lot of scoring in this one. I'm a big fan of the cps2 library, but this has to be the meh-est shmup in it :/ Oh well, someone picked it, so let's make the best of it.

Scores can begin being submitted at Midnight Eastern tomorrow night.

AFAIK all versions should score the same.

I have been using a wired 360 controller and it works great with every game I have downloaded so far.

My config is the left joystick for movement, the face buttons for buttons 1-4, token to select(back) button, and start to start button. That setup has worked great for all the games I have managed to download so far.

As for screenshots I have just been using fraps don't think Mame has a built in screenshot function at least not that I have noticed in my version yet.

As far as I can tell there is not a reset button but you could hit escape and then relaunch the game form the main menu which would be faster then inputting your score in most cases.

You are correct I just looked it up in the general inputs menu.

Creates a folder called snap in the Mame folder that holds all screen shots.

Pressing Shift + F12 also records video.

It sure will. As I told mjm, and as he explained to you, just simply plug it in before you start, and the Tab menu in any loaded game will allow you to set the controls to your liking.

F3 resets. Simple as that.

F12 is your screenshot key. Screenshots will be in your MAMEUI32/snap/*GAMENAME* folder.

Omerta, by "corded" do you mean it's wired, or a wireless that you plugged in? Cuz a wireless will NOT work via USB. The only way to get a wired 360 pad to work is via wireless dongle.

Thanks for the tips guys!

Noise - yeah... figured out the wireless won't work with the USB battery charger (haven't tried it with batteries in and the controller "on" to start with though.) I do have a Hori stick I got from Mike a while back. I couldn't get it to take the general settings but if I set it up for each game it works like a charm.

I'm MAME'd up, boys and girls.
