WTF, full OST? I freaking love Gecko, I hope he does this with other games. His Super Metroid Genesis medley is incredible.o.pwuaioc wrote:Mega Man X OST ported to the Genesis by GeckoYamori. Youtube link -- Sega-16 original thread
Anyways, I'm listening to tons of Keiichi Okabe lately (the Nier games, Drakengard 3, Tekken, etc). This track is so psycho and frantically weird but I love it, it's like heavier than metal.
I think in some of the Drakengard 3 / Nier material there's made up languages and sometimes not even actual real words with some vocal stuff, but it's insane and kind of cool how he utilizes a vocalist like a mechanical instrument or something. It's chilling.

The Fire Emblem Fates/IF soundtrack.
Reminds me that at some point I need to go back and finish the final part.

I ride an exercise bike every evening and listen to music while doing so. I got sick of the musical selection on my iPod so I deleted all the "normal" tunes and I'm now filling it with video game music.
Been listening to the soundtracks of all four Phantasy Star games. I really enjoy the first three. II is probably the strongest overall, which is kinda humorous as it's the weakest game of the bunch. My favorite singular track is probably the opening theme of III. I must admit that the Phantasy Star IV score doesn't do much for me. Of the 16-bit entries, it's the one that sounds the "most Genesis-y" which is kind of cool but most of the compositions are just really weak.

That phantasy star III opening theme is such an amazing track. Truly one of the greats!BoneSnapDeez wrote:I ride an exercise bike every evening and listen to music while doing so. What are you favorite MD/Genesis tunes Bone?
I've been loving the chip more and more over the last year two discovering a lot of gems from VGM podcasts. In good hands the Genesis sound chip can be the best, but in bad hands it can be the worst heh.
Here's a newer one from my ongoing playlist, you'd probably like it.
Warsong Music (Sega Genesis) - Player Phase 1 (Friendly Fight)
Non Genesis:
Magical Chase OST - Final Stage (this track seems too crazy for something so cute? haha)
