I'm really hoping it turns out to be the killer app Nintendo wants it to be.. I love my 3DS so freakin' much, as it basically is a portable Wii minus the necessity to look like an asshole in public!
The DS was awesome, and the 3DS didn't change much to the formula other than adding 3D and an analog button, (
or two..) By all accounts, the 3DS really isn't, (and clearly shouldn't be,) the failure so many pessimists are labeling it to be.. The new Mario game has the right amount of nostalgia for us old-heads, and current gen tech for those who just want to play an awesome Mario game for the modern console..

It was just released prematurely; without decent software and incomplete hardware. In a years time, without a doubt in my mind it will be a great system to have (especially when the 3DS Lite comes out with that 2nd slider).

That lack of decent software is a serious problem at the moment. I was browsing the electronics section of Walmart today, and I was really tempted to spring for a 3DS. What stopped me? I went over to look at the games section to see what I would buy with it. I noticed that there were only 2 games worth getting, and I already own them both for N64.
Hopefully, I will not be able to say the same thing come November.

Hey those must be the two games I own on it... Tom Clancy Shadow Ops is really the only other original title worth buying in my eyes. It is a great Xcom inspired title.
I remember the DS having an issue like this at launch aswell. Very lackluster for the first six months, with the best title being a N64 port. But then things started to pick up with the release of the DSlite (which has one of the worst dpads on a portable ever).

I have 3 3DS games which I think are all worth playing, and only one is a port. The other 2 are Dead or Alive Dimensions and Pilotwings Resort, which are definitely worth a play.
Looking forward to the upcoming 3DS line up a lot though.

I've also gotta recommend the new Pac-Man Galaga Dimensions game.. 6 games on one cart for 40 is a pretty good deal in my book! Plus, if the new spins on Galaga and Pac-Man don't do it for you, (I think they're incredibly fun,) you've got Galaga Legions and Pac-Man CE on there, which nobody can hate!!

Amazon no longer sells any model of the 3DS themselves. There are still many on the Marketplace, but they aren't charging very competitive prices for the most part. I wonder why Amazon is doing this? Sales aren't that bad, are they?

Amazon UK has plenty of both models at a very solid £129.99. Maybe Amazon US is having stock issues :S

Are you sure that Amazon stopped selling the 3DS? Maybe they are just temporarily out of stock.

Nintendo be trolling the US hard yet again. The white and pink 3DS's announced for Japan have now been announced for Europe and Australia as well, but not NA. Why do we always get the short end of the stick colors-wise lately? Why should Australia, of all places, have more available colors than us?
