The PAL Sonic (I bought from the shop channel) and the NTSC Sonic (I downloaded from BG) run in 50Hz and 60Hz respectively. Why they couldn't just release the superior NTSC version in all territories is beyond me though... I hate the slow as fuck music/controls on the PAL version of Sonic it makes me feel like I'm tripping or some shit.
Are you serious the honestly released the crappy 50hz versions!! God and i was just considering getting my n64 collection back in 60hz on VC then selling it ;C Jesus nice move Nintendo

Yep, just straight off the card. Later firmware versions support SDHC SD cards and booting from the SD card. I'm not sure if it's directly off the card yet, but when the feature was released it just copied them temporarily to the Wii and when you were done playing it would delete the file.
It's not directly off the card. It does copy it temporarily to the Wii memory but the delay is not too bad. I tried it last night and it's great. I can put my infrequently used games on the SD card.

I had a modded Wii with tons of backup games but I sold it simply because I did not play it. I now have an Xbox 360 and PS3 and I am 100% pleased with them. The only regret I have is that I now can't play RE4 with the great Wii controls. So basically what I'm trying to say is that I agree that the Wii is a failure. It Lacks good games and it's just not powerful enough for my gaming needs.

I put an 8GB SD card in mine, and put everything I can on that (certain things must be in the Wii's memory area, like certain channels and game save data). The lag is more than bearable even for large games like the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx CDROM titles. (I grew up waiting many minutes for tapes to load into computers, so I can wait many seconds for games to load from CF into main memory. :) ).

I'd initially filled the Wii's memory, and was debating on what to delete. Then the announcement came that SD storage was going to be better supported, and it made life a whole lot easier.

I'm not about to read thru 28 pages of folks bashing or defending the Wii. I'm posting this for two reasons.

One, to bump up my number of posts, and two, because the Wii's Virtual Console RULES! And WiiWare's not too bad either.

Virtual Console is the last thing I'd cite in the Wii's defense. $8 for a 340 KB file? No thank you.

Compare this to PSN, where you can get PS1 games for $6-10. Compare to XBLA, where you can get Xbox titles for around $15.

So you're not going to read 28 pages of Wii Bashing/Defending, but you're willing to defend the Wii yourself?
