Just as a heads up, there may be some burn out mid game, let it sit for a week and come back if that happens and you will be rewarded greatly. I say this, because many others, including myself came across that slump. It had nothing to do with the game, just a weird psychological burn out. Maybe it was because we all played it during its launch and had just had too many awesome switch games to play.
I haven't played this game, but with a lot of turn based strategy games it can be a problem that the missions can be a bit repetitive, even if the base gameplay is gold. I think the only game in the genre that I played that kept mixing it up well was the original Advance Wars and that's mostly because of the very different CO powers (I remember Kanbei forcing me to change my playstyle since I couldn't use brute force anymore at a botlle neck and had to use more hit and run tactics).

But of course as you said if you take a break and go back to a game, if the gameplay is solid you get addicted again. Perhaps it's a game that's better played over a long period of time instead of in one go? I mean I doubt this game has a story that you're in a rush to get through anyway

Oh I loved Mario Rabbids and got burned out mid-game and haven't returned to it. Maybe I should get back into it some time. I was either part way through or just past the 3rd world.

Yep!!! Same... revisit it, you will breeze through the rest and adore every second of it. It is a game you can't binge.

Rabbids is probably the next game I get after finishing Xenoblade 2.

So do people think we'll get this big Nintendo Direct on the 11th that everyone on the internet has been hyped for, even though it hasn't even been announced?

The hype has been off the wall for some reason, with everything from Red Dead Redemption (no chance), GTA V (eh, could well happen), a new Pokemon game (I expect we'll see that one in a later Direct), Soul Calibur VI (probably not), a new major firmware update, the launch of Nintendo's new internet subscription service, the Virtual Console and god knows what else being rumoured.

I'd say anything that 7th gen systems were able to manage is probably fair game for a port, if publishers see a market for it. That said, with the delay of 64GB cards, some ports might end up on the backburner.

Ones I'd be suspicious about are, say, the Tomb Raider reboot (if not the sequel too) - the movie based on them is coming in March, and the first one already has an Android port - the sequel was ported to 360 as well. I could easily see the 8th gen versions getting a combo pack or something, and a Switch port joining them.
Similarly, MGS2 and 3 HD are recent additions to the Shield library, meaning there's a Tegra port of them out there already. Given that MGS released in 1998, I really wouldn't be shocked to see a 20th Anniversary collection drop this year, maybe with a remastered MGS or Twin Snakes HD or something. I think there's already been speculation around Twin Snakes at least for Gamecube VC to boot.

It also would not really surprise me if, when Nexon's mobile FFXI reboot arrives, it has a Switch version too.

I think that rumor originated on ResetEra. if it was the 11th we would have known by now. I do expect one this month but I don't think it will have a bunch of huge announcements. Likely just focus on spring releases.

I hope there's some surprises or big announcements soon. I do agree with those that feel the 2018 lineup is looking a little sparse at the moment (following such an immense first year was always going to be tough).

The delay of the 64gb cartridges does also concern me a little bit, although I don't think any developers have even bothered with the 32gb cards yet, because of the cost. They really do need big third party devs on board though and need to end this 'receive part of the game on the cartridge, download the rest' crap, especially with the Switch's feeble internal storage.

Dragon Quest Heroes uses the 32GB cart. The only game I know of that does.
