I think my biggest issue with Farscape was how forced and sappy the romance got at times. Was definitely a bit too much.
So what have you guys been watching lately?

Not even sure what you're talking out so I must have blocked that out of my mind.

Nuh-uh, that's the best part. I like my fictional romances to read like 98 cent romance novels, without or without the thinly veiled sexual references.Xeogred wrote:I think my biggest issue with Farscape was how forced and sappy the romance got at times. Was definitely a bit too much.

Also, in honor of Halloween I've watched some horror short films. I have a playlist of short films I've seen, but there's no real order to them.

Been working through Dark Matter. It's surprisingly good! Especially after everything on SyFy has been crap as of late, it's refreshing to actually get a decent space-based sci-fi show. Sure, it's not completely original, but I find the characters and interactions between them very interesting.
Plus, amnesia. It's secretly a JRPG, I suppose.

I watched Babylon 5 some years ago (after seeing a good chunk of it back when it was originally on TV) and I finished Stargate a few months ago (after seeing up to season 2 or 3 in TV back in the day, I think?).
I think they are both good sci-fi shows. Babylon 5 I think is underappreciated.
Stargate last seasons was perhaps stretching it, but possibly one of my favorite episodes is that 200th episode which had me laughing from start to finish. Not serious by any means, but has a lot of hilarious scenes.

Was that the "Wormhole X-treme" parody episode?Ivo wrote:Stargate last seasons was perhaps stretching it, but possibly one of my favorite episodes is that 200th episode which had me laughing from start to finish. Not serious by any means, but has a lot of hilarious scenes.
I think one of you is talking about the last seasons of Stargate and the other one is talking about the last seasons of Farscape.Sarge wrote:Nah, the thinly-veiled Catholic Church stand-ins in the last two seasons, with the weird priest dudes. I like the Farscape actors, but I hated the plotline of the last two seasons.
Source of the confusion: Ben Browder and Claudia Black who act on Farscape are cast as fill-ins for more popular characters on Stargate. When Sarge said, "I like the Farscape actors, but I hated the plotline of the last two seasons." he was talking about the last two seasons of SG-1, not the last two seasons of Farscape.

Someone on YouTube uploaded all, if not a huge chunk, of Tales from the Crypt episodes, apparently in HD, though it looks more like the user just cropped some DVD-rips to widescreen and maybe did some quick-and-dirty upscaling.
And someone over here uploaded all the "Are You Afraid of the Dark" episodes. AND THEY'RE NOT AVAILABLE IN THE US!!!

There had been Wormhole X-treme earlier, episode 200 is when the creator of Wormhole X-treme comes to get ideas for a movie.samsonlonghair wrote: Was that the "Wormhole X-treme" parody episode?
Then the whole episode is a series of different silly imagined scenarios, including a Wizard of Oz and a Farscape reference from the character played by Claudia Black (I didn't recognize the Farscape one when I saw it, incidentally).
The marionette version is probably the funniest, at least to me:

Re: So what have you guys been watching lately?
Was recommended the series 'Goliath' by a quite a few folks.
I'm a fan of Billy Bob Thornton, so I gave it a go.
A bit of a mixed bag for me thus far.
First couple episodes were very good. Great way to open the series and maintain interest.
Just finished watching episodes 3 and 4.
IMO, it's dropped off considerably. I kinda found myself yawning through it.
Hopefully it picks up from here on forward.
