Nintendo 3DS
Re: Nintendo 3DS
You won't regret it considering the perks of the system itself totally cover the value of the system with or without Xenoblade, especially if you sold off the older system to defray the costs.
Re: Nintendo 3DS
I'd kinda like to do the same, but I already did the upgrade train once, and am not eager to ride it again. I'll probably wait for the successor... which probably won't have 3D if I had to take a wild guess.
Hope you enjoy Xenoblade! I definitely had fun with it on Wii. It's not perfect, but it's darn good, and I liked the overall feel better than FFXII.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I'm looking forward to starting it. Might start it tonight but I want to finish some of the anime I've been watching so I can send the DVDs back -
I will say from my short time toying with it that the 3D effect is both more convincing and far less intrusive. I could actually see myself leaving 3D on for things like Mario Kart now. The system itself feels like it's built a bit better too but that could just be in my head. I enjoy the fact that the system is far faster than it used to be as a whole. Load times on some games seem extraordinarily quick compared to what they were on the regular 3DS (which is nothing to sneeze at either as a general rule). The quality of the displays seems to be far higher too.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
For 3DS there are two new Zelda games coming, but they are not traditional Zelda games. There's The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes which is focused towards online multiplayer, and The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors Legends, which is a port of the Wii U musou style game.
The "two" Fire Emblem games are actually the same game, Fire Emblem Fates, which will come in "White Knight Kingdom" and "Dark Knight Kingdom" flavors. It remains to be seen how much different the two versions of the game will actually be, but when you buy one physical version you can download the other version as free DLC.
The Legend Of Legacy does look interesting. The development team FuRyu is certainly being productive lately. Japanese reviews say the game is tough as nails too, hopefully that won't get neutered in localization. This game is supposed to release in the USA on October 13, 2015.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Glad to see this topic up to date again.
I've never heard of Legend of Legacy, but you have my interest on that one now. Not sure how I feel about Zelda as the whole 'four swords' style games I couldn't get into long but it's not a write off like the WiiU game was due to being open world. Fire Emblem, that I'm curious about, but I still have barely even scratched Awakening that I re-acquired fairly recently.
I have this little problem I never seem to stop myself with where I buy games and hope to play, better yet hope to finish, and I do not. I consciously think I'll do this game today, then stuff side tracks me then it's too late or I'm too tired to care. Because of that I have a still sealed HD collectors version of FF Type0 for PS4 and Tomb Raider incomplete. On the 3DS it's worse as I have FE Awakening, Zelda Link Between Worlds and Ocarina of Time, New SMB2 (if I bother and don't sell it again), RE Revelations, and Xenoblade which started to drag like 30hours into it.
I need to work those or something because coming out going forward there's maybe me getting Hatsume Miko for something different and Senran Kagura 2 too, Rodea, Chibi Robo (if it's on card), FF Explorers, Bravely Default 2, Hyrule Warriors Legends, that Metroid game, Fire Emblem Fates, and if we don't get screwed out of another... DQ 11.

Maybe just be a bit stingier with game choices?
Chibi-Robo!: Zip-Line is indeed getting a physical release. There's also a version coming bundled with the Chibi-Robo! amiibo.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I wrote off ever playing Zelda on the WiiU because it's open world. I detest games like that. I don't like buying a game where it's so huge a good 2" on the tablet screen is like a 15min walk on the TV itself. I won't touch stuff like that which would include gems like Skyrim and Morrowind. They're too large, too open, and too confusing to me to get my value out of it to be worth a bother. I'm old enough I grew up starting with the NES and I like my games to be fairly linear and open world is as far away from that as possible. It's definitely why I've had that 3DS Zelda game since it came out and haven't cleared more than two dungeons. It's not a bad game, but it demotivates me by its openness.Reprise wrote:Wait, what?Tanooki wrote:but it's not a write off like the WiiU game was due to being open world.
Now that, I could totally see snapping that up because I want that amiibo too. Trolls won't like me for it, I'd open it, just like the Fox Amiibo I finally got. I'm down to Mac, Pit and Capn Falcon now. As far as being more stingy, what do you mean? That is somewhat of a cut list, and stuff on there I'm not 100% certain I'd buy like Hatsune Miku for one. My problem is I get side tracked then don't start stuff, or I just don't start it more than a few times and it sits. I need to find a way to stop that or just get rid of the rot.Cronozilla wrote:Maybe just be a bit stingier with game choices?

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I think a sandbox styled open world Zelda sounds awesome to be honest.
