I have no idea. I just see it as free money. I had 5 non working PS2's. Now I have DMC HD, Revelations 2 (on its way) and Bloodborne, (on its way) for free. I only saved em for parts. They were tucked into the basement. I have 7 working systems and all the controllers I may ever, I mean ever need. All I am giving them are bare consoles, it almost feels like stealing.

There are literally millions upon millions of these out there. They will not even put a dent into the supply. Other than folks like us most people have no intention of going two generations back to play games. The majority want latest and greatest. I do not see any conspiracy here. How stupid of a financial move would it be to be doing this just to gut the supply? They are getting something from it, even if they just break even on it. People are gonna come in and spend the credit and then some more money on top of that most of the time.

When the world runs out of PS2's I will send out mine free except for shipping to re-supply them! Now if they would only take PS1 decks for 30 bucks!!!!!! I could turn mine into a spare PS4 or a Xbone!

Well, I got to digging, and I found one that I forgot that I had, and remembered that I actually disposed of a couple of Slims a while back in a cleaning frenzy. At least I think I did, who knows, they might be up in the loft. :(

Anyway, I've got a Slim I'm not even going to try to trade in, the ribbon cable clip on the laser is goofed up, and I need to completely reassemble anyway. I'm not even sure that the track mechanism works. I'm debating unloading a perfectly functional one, it's just not the best disc reader in the world anymore is the only problem. If I keep it, I'll have three working fat PS2s, one working Slim, and a busted Slim.

Definitely wish I could get rid of some original XBOX consoles. I've got... hrm... five, I think. And a dead one that I've already raided for parts and has a dead mobo. Only have two PS1s, strangely enough, and two Saturns. And a single N64! What is the world coming to?

Well here is something that completely sucks. About two weeks ago I bought castlevania lords of shadow collection. I noticed it didn't come with the manual and I asked on it and the clerk says thats how new games are coming lately.
Yet when I played the game I wondered where all of the extra content was and come to find out its in the back of the freaking manual!!!!. I called them and the guy blew me off and said call tomorrow. Now I don't have any of the exra content. Assholes

That is what they always say especially when selling "New" display copies :P . Unless I see that there is printed warnings/basic instructions on the inside of the artwork I usually don't believe them. Really wish they would put a icon or small notice on the back for games with manual on disc since there are a few games like Infamous second son which don't have any indication that a physical manual isn't included. Determining if you've found a "complete" copy of a used game will be pretty difficult from now on.

You need to go back immediately and refund or exchange your new game for a SEALED copy! Get Management involved stating game is defective due to the DRM codes missing or go thru Corporate if they give you a run around on not refunding an opened (which the store did) new game.

Why would anyone buy an non sealed new game from Gamestop? The current generation systems have to be scrutinized before buying any used or opened game due to the DLC/DRM issues.

Even used hardware can sometimes be a DRM issue. I bought a used Wii Speak from Gamestop and had to do some tap dancing with Nintendo Support to enable the microphone back when then were online game support.

I love that the take the wrapper off for me. Saves a lot of hassle and decreases time between purchase and play.

Besides, sometimes it is just all they have. Better to buy it than not. I have asked my local clerks to please pass my thanks for this policy up the line!
