I did the same thing this past summer. I can relate to it feeling shorter too. Definitely one of my favorite games. I wish that they'd been able to directly continue the series. I have nothing against Paper Mario or the Mario & Luigi games, but there was something special about Mario RPG that they couldn't seem to recreate. Probably the Square part now that I think about it haha.I just finished Mario RPG again for the first time in about 15 years
What RPG are you playing right now?

I know, but I'm a stickler for every tiny little detail.Stark wrote:They pretty much spell it out in the first couple of hours of 2...also I thin there is a video synopsis they released as well.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I started playing Witcher 2 again.
I'll be damned, but I hate not knowing what happened in the first game. I'm so damned lost. I'm excited for the third one, but not knowing what happened in the first one will still aggravate me. Bahhh.
I'd grab the first one if I could find a coherent way to play it with a controller.

Any one finished Ni No Kuni yet? I've put a bit over 40 hours in to the game now, done quite a lot of side quests and I'm soon heading to the swamp/marsh to face Shadar. Any thoughts on the game? No spoilers please
Witcher 2 is said to be a lot worse than the original game so it's not a bad idea to play through that one firstForlorn Drifter wrote:I started playing Witcher 2 again.

Just did some talking with a friend about the Witcher series. (He's a big fan.)
Apparently, nothing overly important happens in Witcher one. The majority of the things I've been confused about come from the books. Well la tee freaking da.
Oh well, the combat system was wonky anyways from what I can tell.

Yeah, the first Witcher, as I understand it, is pretty self contained. The biggest development that matters for the sequels is how Geralt came back from the dead, as seen at the end of the books. And it looks like that's going to be more of a plot point for the third game.Forlorn Drifter wrote:Apparently, nothing overly important happens in Witcher one. It actually was much simpler than it seems when described. Your attacks have a rhythm to them, so you don't want to just madly click like in Diablo; you follow the animation and do the next attack when the first is just finishing (and the cursor changes to indicate the time to click). The three styles are an attempt to complicate things, but again, they're pretty self explanatory. Strong against the armored stuff, fast against the fast stuff, group against two or more. Which means you spend 90% of the time in group style.Oh well, the combat system was wonky anyways from what I can tell.

I'd go as far to say that Paper Mario is every bit as good as SMRPG, it's just different.Wispmage wrote:I did the same thing this past summer. I can relate to it feeling shorter too. Honestly, SMRPG is by far my least favorite of all the Mario rpgs.
Its also the only one I've never beaten. I grew bored of it and that was that.
I never, ever got bored with the Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi games.

Chrono Trigger on Wii Virtual Console. I played it way back when it was a new game. But it's been quite a while. I've just started and I'm really liking it, so far. I've forgotten enough about it after this much time that it's almost a new experience again.

One of the best games of all time. Think I might give it a whirl again.BurningDoom wrote:Chrono Trigger on Wii Virtual Console. I played it way back when it was a new game. I need something short that I can finish within a week or so... Maybe I'll fire up Brain Lord.
