Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Over the weekend I saw Frost/Nixon and Batman Dark Knight. And honestly, after Frost/Nixon, I thought Batman was fairly poor. Im not a big fan of political thrillers, but it invoked the same feelings that All the Presidents Men and to be honest movie of the year might come down between it and Changling.

Hamlet 2, which is BRILLIANT!

Let's see...I watched Hellboy II, The Thirteenth Floor, The Mummy III: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor for the first time and rewatched Pootie Tang and Spaceballs.
I liked all of them except The Mummy III, which just felt like a poor cop-out to try to earn more money on a franchise that had outlived its usefulness for this generation. The others? Had their problems, but I still liked them a lot.

Librarian 3 The Judas Chalice, a film that I was almost in... But that is a story for another time. Like the others, only soso, but still very enjoyable.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
my girl made me see Twilight. I really didnt have any feelings going in or out of it but I could see how it appeals to her (along w/ every chick my age).
Soon after I enjoyed a good 4 or 5 hours w/ a 42" screen, and Ghost Busters 1 and 2.

Older. Not wiser.

My top 10 movies of 2008
1. 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (best film to come out of Europe all year)
2. The Class
3. Wendy and Lucy
4. [REC] (filmed in 2007 but theatrical worldwide was this spring/summer)
5. Frost/Nixon
6. Diary of the Dead
7. Wall-E
8. Still Life
9. The Happening (ok many hated it but I found it quite disturbing)
10. The Dark Knight
And I'm appalled to learn they have butchered The Day the Earth Stood Still

Wizard of Gore remake - 8/10
Wall-E - 9/10
Hamlet 2 (again) - 8/10
New Gladiators (an old Lucio Fulci film about convicts who fight to the death on a televised event in a post-war future where televised violence is common) - 8/10
I also scored some movies back on Monday (only days before Christmas) with a $100 Visa gift card that my parents got me:
* Hot Shots/Hot Shots: Part Deux double feature
* Wizard of Gore remake
* Death Race (came w/ free skullcap)
* Nosferatu, but it's this version from some company that releases cheap PD stuff. It's got an intro by David Carradine AND a new score from a band called Type O-Negative.
* Laserhawk, from the same company as the above

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Finally watched Wall-E. Not completely amazing or anything. Just a cute, minimalist tale.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Just watched The Spirit.
If you look at it as nothing like the comic book, a comedy, and you don't mind monologues where the actor stares at the camera, it's an enjoyable romp. But at the end of the day...it's really just eye candy, and that's about it

It's actually based on a comic? I thought for sure it was just pulled out of an ass somewhere, pretending to be based on something.
