I totally slacked on Shikigami. I think I had one run all month, and that was at MAGfest, on a PS2 controller. and it was terrible.
I guess I'll kick off the Dragon Spirit scores...
EllertMichael - 49240 - Area 2 - Arcade
Never been a big fan of the top down shmup ground attack mechanic. This game feels especially hard to judge distance wise (no crosshair) and it's pretty rigid. and I definitely got sniped by a ground enemy from off screen behind me fuck namco.

Going to try the PC Engine version and see how that is in comparison.
I am giving the NES version a go. The slowdown for me was from the get go.
I will likely play this on the PS3 (Namco Essentials) or on a PS1/PS2 Namco collection. Is it on PSN for PSP/PS1 at all?
This bit on speed seems relevant for competition - From HG101:
There are also two versions of Dragon Spirit in the arcade - the "Old Version" and "New Version". The Old Version has a brief section before the first level, complete with its own theme music. This whole segment was removed from the New Version. However, the New Version offers a level select at the beginning of the game. The dragon also moves faster in the New Version, and there are other small things altered here and there. The X68000 and Playstation ports let you pick the version, while the versions featured on the Namco emulations all use the New version.
I'd suggest we play the "new" version (and start in area 1)
Are we allowing auto-fire enabled for any of the ports?
