It really shouldn't take too long to get to 12, just participate in the various jobs out there. Go into the online menu and select random jobs and pick what you are more comfortable with. I tend to stick with deathmatch over driving, because I stink at driving.

Check out the racket boy crew as well here

I have learned to save and save often. I save after every mission. I do this because it would crash at random points (usually in missions). I can't determine why but I suspect a software issue and not hardware. The Catalyst Control drivers is running at 15.04 or something, which is made for GTA V and also in Beta.

Typically, in the last two GTA releases, I have disabled auto save. It brings it in line with past games and gives me the freedom of going on a random rampage or any other reason and then reverting back to a previous save and go about my day. The quick save on the phone was a great addition back when I played through this on the 7th gen consoles and it's even better today due to the potental issues of PC gaming.

Edit: So on the previous platforms I never had the Social Club. The PC release got me to sign up. But apparently some content was locked behind the Club via "returning GTA V players". In other words if you linked your PS3 or 360 games to the Club you get a few things such as a fun and a few missions in the next gen release, PC included. I went back to the PS3 game to link and it still looks impressive. I didn't sit there and analyze every detail but it still holds up quite well.

About half way through the story again. Played a little more online and the Heists are really great as are the missions when you can find solid team mates.

^more post-game UFO theory stuff... which I find fascinating. I really need to work more on the single player campaign, as I'm really looking forward to some X-Filing.

Here's a tip: for single player do the Lester's Assassination missions post game. Its the only way you can ever afford properties like the $150,000,000 golf course and the two movie theaters.

Yup, Yahtzee is pretty spot on. Shame really, GTA Online could have been such a great game with proper online infastructure and if it didn't include a grindfest.
