Let's have a western animation thread

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I liked quick message in the credits. ;) The end of season 4 had some real gems, especially beginning with Pinstripes and Poltergeists, but especially Come to Hank's and Bright Lights, Dean City.

FYI, everyone should be watching the new ThunderCats. It is awesome.

That is all.

I missed the premier (and the second episode by this point, I assume) of Thundercats.

I dunno, part of me is curious, but the other part of me remembers how much I despise the original show.

I'm sure they're very different, but I'm not sure I want to bother.

If it helps any, the writers of the new series have streamlined the old mythos into a story that actually makes some coherent sense this time, instead of the random jumble of cool-but-incongruous ideas that was the original show.

Well, the copy of Fairly Oddparents: Series One I ordered arrived in the mail from the UK. I ordered the British version because the American version of the season 1 set is missing several episodes, while the British version is complete. It's nice to have the set, but it bugs me that I had to buy the British version of an American TV show to get the complete experience. It's sort of like if Nintendo gave us SMB3 the way it was, but cut out a world in the Japanese version. Oh well, at least it's on DVD at all.

I am lining up European animation for a panel at Dragoncon this Laborday weekend. The lineup right now is:
Secret of Kells - clip
Asterix The Land of the Gods trailer - which is supposed to drop September 2nd
Tintin Secret of the Unicorn trailer
The Illusionist - clip
A selection of Emile Cohls works
And whatever Russian cartoons I find in my old mans 8mm collection

Hopefully I can get clips from :
Le Chat du Rabbin
Tante Hilda!
Niko - Family Affairs
But most of those are not done yet

If you have any suggestions I am more than willing to hear them

Indeed it is. So far, it's been even better than the original, if you can believe that.

Hm.

Part of me is like "Wow, continuity and smooth animation. This is like when Batman:TAS ushered in another age of TV animation."

The other part of me is like "Wow, I really miss the days when listening to the Ultimate Warrior's wild rambles was cool."
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Did anyone catch this week's Thundercats episode? Fan-freaking-tastic! Panthro is back and bad-ass as ever! This was definitely the best episode since the hour-long opener.
