I've beaten the entire
Ace Combat trilogy on PS2, and I concur,
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War is the best. It's an amazing and super fun game with a fantastic story.
Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War is very short. It feels more like an expansion pack than a whole game. It's worth playing as it does have a decent plot and some of toughest dogfighting battles you'll ever see in a jet fighting game. When the Spanish acoustic guitar kicks in you better have your act together.
Ace Combat 4 is merely "okay", it's a more arcade like experience than the other two.
There are a
LOT of jet fighting plot driven games on the PS2. If you're into the genre you can be busy for a long time on that platform alone.
