1) I'm sure the book is better - C.P. is a great writer, and it is hard to translate his stuff to the screen. My score is based on the merits of the film as a stand-alone entity.
I was more saying that if you liked the film, read the book and then you'll probably like the film more.

I used to love CP, but burned myself out on his writing. Too many of his books ultimately have the same theme, which gets meh. But I thoroughly enjoyed Fight Club, Choke, Haunted and Stranger Than Fiction. I've ready ALMOST all of his books though. Just didn't care for the others as much.

Watched the movies

Mark of the Devil- interesting movie about witch hunting with some cool scenes- tounge ripped out!!

High tension- awesome french horror with cool twist

anthropophagus: the grim reaper- not very good, two scenes stand out- one including a fetus being ripped out of a stomach and being eaten--other than that, pretty lame-

Last night I watched Boondock Saints II and Lust, Caution.

I don't know what to think about Saints II. It had some very good parts, but also a lot of things that annoyed me. I didn't like a lot of the characters. They were acted poorly and were mainly there for comedic purposes which I thought was completely unnecessary. Worth watching though.

Lust, Caution was excellent. Great acting and told it's story flawlessly.

Tonight is either going to be Izo, Hellboy, or 30 Days of Night. I'm trying to watch all my movies I own but haven't seen yet.

Been wanting to see it for the longest time. I like the way that Refn directs his movies. Check out Bronson from him if you haven't yet.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Such a funny movie :D

Got this out for the kids, but ended up loving it. Very funny stuff.

Watched "The Informant" last night. Was average.

Watched "Up In The Air" last week. Loved it.

The last movie I actually *finished* watching was Predator 2. Good movie, but I liked the first one better.

Watched Porco Rosso, for the first time, I'd say it is Miyazaki's 3rd best film.

REAR-VIEW MIRROR

Everyone should watch this movie. If you're not familiar with the plot, you'll be surprised to know that you actually ARE familiar with the plot. It's one of, if not the first, movies to explore the "My mind is playing tricks on me.... Or is it?" theme. Trust me, you've probably seen a movie, show, short, etc. that uses similar elements.

If you haven't already, go see it. I'll throw in two names: Alfred Hitchcock, Jimmy Stewart.

Hope you are convinced now.

I think you mean Rear Window. Another Hitchcock great, indeed.
