I won't disagree on her qualifications, but there's certain big button topics where she will be working against what these people want (heck, what I want) and I can't risk that. She's also had cases where she's been awfully flip-floppy on certain topics, and that rubs me the wrong ass way.

I'm hoping against hell that Trump doesn't get the nomination, and if he does, I'm write in voting for someone else.

And other politicians haven't been doing that? Actually never mind. Aren't the PEOPLE the ones who flip-flop all the time? Seriously modern democracy started sucking once politicians and media became unable to be judgemental of "the people's voice/choice".

I'm not a Trump supporter, so I don't care about his weird ass N. Korean like little girl singing thing.

But, I won't argue here, as I forget that I'm on a forum where being a conservative is frowned upon, especially if one is vocal about it.

I'm not sure I'd say it's frowned upon (at least I don't see it that way), but there does seem to be a liberal majority here. I think a write-in or third party vote is a fine thing. Democratic government is about making your voice heard, even if your voice is small. I am about as far from conservative as it gets, but as long as you can back up your views with something some legitimate than "It's in the Bible," I'm perfectly happy to agree to disagree and have an exchange of ideas. Good discussions rarely come from preaching to the choir, so to speak.

I agree that our second biggest problem (after the existence of a two party system) is that politicians can't criticize the majority opinion. The fact of the matter is that, by and large, the American people aren't that bright. Most of us will talk all day about our rights and the Constitution but have no idea what the document says, and most American don't watch the news if it doesn't involve celebrities. Not only that, but less than half of the country has any kind of post-secondary education (regardless of what kind of degree or whether one even finished a degree). To be blunt, most people have no idea what they're talking about; politicians shouldn't be afraid to criticize that ignorance, but they have to be.

I don't blame you if you avoid such websites - they're terrible - but let's not pretend they don't exist.

Have you not noticed that the gaming community - not to mention the internet writ large - is absolutely crawling with reactionary elements? Are you unaware of reddit, 4chan, The Escapist, and so on? I don't blame you if you avoid such websites - they're terrible - but let's not pretend they don't exist.

Those people are not conservative, in most cases. 4chan is a bunch of faux libertarian psychos, reddit is full of "socialism for me, and not for anyone that isn't a white, preferably atheist, tech or engineering field male that lives in the city", I know nothing of the Escapist.

From what I see on the internet, the essential breakdown is anything-not-conservative.

Many people on 4chan just spout white nationalist ultra-authoritarian nonsense because 4chan is contrarian and edgy, and so if leftism is in vogue, then they're gonna be ultra right wing. If Trump wins this fall, 4chan will start becoming radically left like they used to be when Bush was in office.

Reddit is full of kids, trolls, and secretly racist progressives, but also has a good number of genuine conservatives. The leftists in the default subs definitely outnumber them though.

The Escapist, I don't know either. From what little time I spent in their forums I didn't see much discussion of anything other than games and movies.

Yes, Racketboy is more aggressively leftist than the internet as a whole. On none of the other websites I post on do I receive as much hostility for voicing my honest opinions as I do here. And every time someone points out the situation here - because Forlorn and myself are not the first to do this - the denial is always the same.
