I get my new weekly comics from my local comic shop. As for back-issues, I swear by www.comiccollectorlive.com. It's easily got the best prices and best selection online.

As for comics, I usually buy mine at a local shop but I have honestly been digging how Comixology allows you to read digital comics panel by panel.
I got all 52 of the "New 52" for $60 shipped from SsaleFish Comics (http://www.ssalefish.com/). I am thinking about getting most of my comics in the future digitally and buying hard-copies online from Midtown or ssalefish that way the shipping time wont interrupt my reading. My long term comic reading goal is to get advance copies from the publishers to review... but that is just a dream.

One of the major turn-offs when it comes to talking about comics is the elitist attitude that some enthusiasts have. I don't give a damn what happened to X-hero during X-timeline in the early 90's, I'm reading Vol. 3, #1 where the continuity doesn't even matter anymore... It can be real difficult carrying a conversation with people like that, lol.

For instance, I absolutely love the new Batgirl and Catwoman comics; they appeal to my taste and interest and I like talking about 'em with people who share the same interest! Then there are those who absolutely loathe the new Catwoman for whatever reason (but mostly because of its overly sensual content). To each his own, just don't try shovin' your opinion down my throat.

Dood, you're site is pretty awesome, I wouldn't rule it out as just a dream. You've definitely got potential.

I agree.
At first I was one of those fans who missed Steph Brown as Batgirl, but this is what I said in my review:
Once I realized that maybe it’s Batgirl that I enjoy reading about not the person under the cowl, I was able to really appreciate the character, the new villain, and her role in Gotham City.

As for Catwoman, I also understood the scene and was cool with it:
Again, this is a book that I wish I didn’t read reviews about before I read the book. Before I read this issue I read plenty of complaints about the intimate Catwoman and Batman scene that takes place at the end of the book. At first I was also weirded out by the scene when only those couple pages were shown, once reading the whole story I was ok with the scene and thought it fit in seamlessly into the book. The attraction between Catwoman and Batman has always been there with her liking the “mysterious” guy and him attracted to the “bad” girl. I totally understand how after having her apartment blown up and fighting a bunch of Russian mobsters along with Batman's concern for her safety would stir up the primal attraction between the two characters.

So having read Nightwing # 1, Batman and Robin # 1 and Huntress # 1, I was a bit underwhelmed by them. These may be very slightly spoilery, but I don't really cover any major plot points

Nightwing # 1 was okay, but I don't feel like enough of Dick's fun and witty personality came through and I don't think anything about the book would really hook someone who isn't already a fan of Batman and the Bat family. I don't like the switch from blue to red in his costume. On the plus side, the issue basically tells you everything about his history. So it's definitely accessible, but it doesn't present Dick as anything other than a "Batman Lite"

Huntress was basically here's a book with a hot chick going after bad guys who are...bad. It could have been a book about any babe in a super hero outfit and had no real hook to make someone want that second issue. It didn't even really have an interesting main villain. I don't think it really revealed much about her character or origins either. I want to know where this continuity's version of Huntress comes from

See these books are lacking that one thing that made Batgirl # 1 so good. Batgirl # 1 made you CARE about that character. It was a personal story about a woman trying to get her old life back after having experienced a traumatic event and physical dehabilitation in her life. It's the only new 52 book I've read so far that made me emphathize with a character

As for Batman and Robin # 1, I don't like Damien. The father/son friction between him and Bats isn't very appealing to me either. Damien makes Batman seem less cool, a common problem with stories that involve a Robin character. In this case though, it's because of how much he berates Batman. Plus, Batman as an angry dad chewing out his son just isn't very cool to me. Oh yeah, and Damien REALLY likes killing. Something I feel should be getting a much harsher reaction from a guy like Batman

That said, I will still pick up another issue or two of these books and see how they go because I am a huge Batman fanboy. They didn't really impress though the way Batman # 1, Batman Detective Comics # 1 and Batgirl # 1 did though. Birds of Prey didn't blow me away either, though it was kind of a fun read if you like lots of action, hot babes and invisible ninjas

Damian worked so well with Dick as Batman... or any other witty fun loving character. Damian's missions with Stephanie Brown and the Teen Titans were classic comedy.
Damian with Dick or Steph works on a "Sam and Max" level.

And that's why Batman & Robin is the only Batman title out of the new 52 that's not on my subscription. The chemistry between the two characters just doesn't do it for me an' I had to force myself to read through the issue... not fun.

As for Birds of Prey, so far, it's mild at best. I'm a fan of the first volume (haven't read the second) but this one has my interest. An' I'm actually not too horribly upset with Canary's new look, lol.

^^^ I don't like how modern comics look. I like the old style, with no computer manipulation, completely hand-drawn.

I like the way new comics look because you can see a wider range of colors.
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.
