Re: Official Racketboy Suggestion Forum Thread
Seems like a reasonable idea to me. It will require people to pay attention to the thread to help too much though.

Would it help to do a table of contents kind of thing on the first post that could be edited each time a new problem for a game is added in the thread? Or something to that effect...Hobie-wan wrote:Seems like a reasonable idea to me. It will require people to pay attention to the thread to help too much though.

Re: Official Racketboy Suggestion Forum Thread
I meant the way people view the forum. I look at the forum and always click on the 'last unread post' for threads I'm interested in. That way I don't miss any posts in these threads. It seems that some people only click on stuff from the 'view active topics' and such, so might end up missing stuff. This seems the case to me as people often post like they haven't read previous replies that are only a post or two up, but might be a week old and whatnot.

I thought we established "view active topics" was actually superior to "view new posts"Hobie-wan wrote:I meant the way people view the forum. No sir. I look at a whole forum section and easily see all the ones with new posts. Hit what I want, mark the rest read.dsheinem wrote:I thought we established "view active topics" was actually superior to "view new posts"

Re: Official Racketboy Suggestion Forum Thread
When you're in the root of a section, say Off-Topic, there's a link over on the top right that says "Mark Topics Read". It will clear any unread posts in that section as of the way they appear while you're looking at them at that moment.sabrage wrote:Tell me how to do this ಠ_ಠHobie-wan wrote:mark the rest read.

Re: Official Racketboy Suggestion Forum Thread
Sure - but "view active topics" allows for EXACTLY the same functionality as "View New Posts" BUT includes roughly 10-15 pages or so of recent posting activity. "View new posts" usually only shows one or two pages, in my experience, and sometimes omits stuff on the first page or two.Hobie-wan wrote: I look at a whole forum section and easily see all the ones with new posts. Re: Official Racketboy Suggestion Forum Thread
The problem with forumrunner and tapatalk is with every external plugin there is security risk. Plus purchasing an app to post is something we want to avoid. I have tested both already, and we are now looking into a free app-less solution.gtmtnbiker wrote:So there are no thoughts on this? Personally, I've been enjoying other forums that have tapatalk plugin installed.gtmtnbiker wrote:There is a tapatalk plugin for phpbb which could be added. So are there any plans for better iPad/iPhone support?gtmtnbiker wrote:Any word on making the site more mobile friendly? It seems that Tapatalk support could be added relatively easy.
I have been using the spacebooger.com forums as a testing ground and have a theme currently installed that racket and I have been discussing porting over to this site. (check it out on your mobile phone if you want and PM me any feedback - the more help the merrier)
This isn't a promise that it will happen soon, there are both pros and cons to going 100% mobile, I just wanted to let everyone know that it is something we are working on.
