Must. Wait. Until. April. 25th.

So in the interim can you guys give me a build suggestion to run through dark or demon's souls with to keep myself occupied? Something preferably with some good ability for pvp so I can squeeze as much time out of the character as possible.

At this point you probably need Godlike characters to PVP in those.

It was laughable whenever I tried.

Yeah, FUCK 5-2.

I played a lot this weekend, and so far 5-2 has been the hardest part of the game....by far. Those damn goblin giants hit HARD....even worst than those are the Black Phantom versions. I died so many times to those, that I had to eventually sneak around them. Oh yeah, getting poisoned every minute standing in the swamp wasn't fun either (even with full Gloom armor and Poison Resist ring).

I haven't even finished my first playthrough yet and I'm dreading 5-2 on my NG+ playthrough. I hate the level, but not because of it's design but because of it's brutal difficulty. Well, maybe saying "love to hate" would be more appropriate, as I do enjoy the difficulty of it.

For whatever reason I don't remember 5 being all that hard for me, especially the bosses in that stage. But I'll admit I grinded the crap out of all of stage 4. haha, so maybe by that point I was overpowered or something.

Absolutely loving Dark Souls II, but Demon's still might be my favorite. Just something about it... guess it being the first experience of these insane games leaves a big impression. It'll be interesting to go back to it someday. I think my build was pretty bad after awhile haha, but I managed until I hit a wall on my NG+ or something.

The bosses of 5 were all pretty easy. The final boss might give you trouble if you decide to fight Garl straight up, since he's got some really nice gear.

Yeah I didn't have any trouble with any of the bosses of Valley of Defilement except Garl. I just sniped the Maiden and killed her. Then Garl made his way to me (but his pathing doesn't allow him all the way up the path). So I met him head on. His hammer hits hard and he took me down (I had him to half health). I was looking forward to a rematch with him, but on my return he was gone. His loot was on the ground though. Strange.

Yeah, that's how that fight works. When you kill the Maiden Garl doesn't have anything to live for, so once you're out of the picture he suicides.

I always loved the Nexus hub in this game - really wish they had stuck with this. It makes the game feel more old-school for me, kinda like the glory days of Mega Man.

Replaying this... At the 1-1 bridge of Boletaria castle: is there any way to get down to the area at the bottom left-hand side (if you're on the bridge facing the castle entrance)? There's a door there but no way to open it, at least from the outside. Can you get over there or is it just for looks?

At pure white or pure black world tendency that door opens. In both cases there's an NPC/black phantom that will attack you and in pure black there's one of those slug demons that drops colorless souls. That area holds the Brushwood Armor set that Biorr wears and is completely not worth using due to the way things work in Demon's Souls.
