While this is true, there are some of us, myself included, that would never touch a PS3 with a ten foot pole lol

No offense intended, as you prove a valid point. But a lot of collectors and game enthusiasts have no problem paying a premium to be able to play certain games on the original hardware; even if an anthology or compilation exists for a newer console, it's never the same for us. Heck, we could all buy Dingoos an ROM ourselves to death lol
I own one, but I like collecting and playing carts as well.

Yeah, that's kind of how I was thinking. Now if he were to start pumping out "repro" carts of Sonic 2 or Altered Beast, then I would probably object.

Agreed... Those games are so common we could trade them like currency.
That'll be five Sonic 2 carts for that loaf of bread lol

Also, here's a forum I found for Master System and Game Gear enthusiasts: http://www.smspower.org/ Maybe you can use that to figure out how to do Game Gear repros. I'd love to have Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflit repro'd.

The problem with that is that I don't have a GBA or Game Gear systems to even start to think about taking the plunge.

Hobie-wan wrote:Streets of Rage III and Golden Axe III are available on the PS3 Genesis compilation though. Since they're commercialy available for $20 on that comp, which I'm assuming is going to be a lot cheaper than Zig could make both, those shouldn't be considered for repros IMHO.

But I didn't say Streets of Rage III, I said Bare Knuckle III. And I could understand why some one would want Golden Axe III, as it was never a proper Genesis release. I mean, Super Mario Bros. 2 JPN was enhanced and released on Mario All Stars, and the original version is on the Virtual Console, yet people still want that in the form on an NES cart.

Also, would any one be interested in a repro of Star Ocean? I have one on hand because some one wanted it, but I don't know who and no one has contacted me about it in a few months. As far as I'm concerned it's up for grabs.

agh. Too bad. I'm thinking I'm gonna order a cheap GBA flash cart and make a Mother 3 English GBA cart for myself. I'll just print out cover art from the cover project. Should look nice and be playable, anyway.

You could probably get a flash cart for cheaper than I could build a single repro for, and the flash cart will be 1000 times for cost effective.

Definitely, I don't see the point of GBA repros.

well even it was a flashcart, with a single (rare -- like in the case of Mother 3 translation) ROM on it, with nice artwork printed out, then it's just a neat collectible to have. I have no interest in a flashcart full of GBA ROMS, but some kind of one-of-a-kind repo cart would be cool (to me).

I can see what your getting at. The art / label / box, would certainty make it appealing,
even to me.

right, exactly. Having a repro of say Mother 3 translation in a box with label etc would LOOK so much nicer in your collection than a flashcart with 1000 random ROMs on it.

I thought it was disc only release? Can it be put onto a cart?
