Started Desert Strike earlier with the intention of playing through the entire series back to back in chronological order as I did Panzer Dragoon earlier on in the year.

Quite looking forward to this little project. Desert, Jungle and Future Cop are classics in my book. Never had much love for Urban or Soviet but maybe that can change and I've never owned Nuclear until recently.

Early impressions of Desert Strike: it's hard, it's not very PC and the Snes version has terrible sound.

Titanfall, and I bought COD and Sunset Overdrive yesterday. I failed to play a Halloween game yet again. My retro area is a mess since my friend and I started shooting for silly YouTube videos haha.

I beat the Genesis version when I was a teen, but I still remember a lot about it. The best tactics are hit and run, hit and run, always. I thought the ending was pretty cool. Never could get into any of the sequels though, I dunno why.

I had it ages ago for DOS. I don't think I personally ever beat it but I know my brother did.

It's one of those games that sort of ingrains itself in your mind I think, probably due to it being pretty tough and unforgiving.

I recently started up Devil May Cry. I have made other attempts at the game, but it finally "clicked" with me last night. I have been getting C and B rankings, but I received my first S ranking last night. I doubt that I will receive many more; however, I am now emphasizing speedy, stylish killing over exploration.

HD Collection or original?

HD Collection. I tried original a few times, but didn't get into it. A picked up the HD Collection earlier this year, however, and thought I would give it another shot. (The looks gorgeous in HD, BTW.)

Hmm. I have the HD collection on PS3 and also couldn't get into the original. Hmm.

Sorry about that. I meant that I tried the original version on the PS2 several years ago. (I have also own all three games in the DMC trilogy for the PS2 in addition to the PS3 HD Collection because I am an OCD collector like that...)
