As someone who owns about 50 Vita games now, I can attest it isn't a cheap platform to buy games for. I just bought a copy of Trails of Cold Steel, and even the standard edition was $39.99. I miss the days of new handheld games costing $29.99.

The real kicker is the price of the memory cards. 64GB for $100 is insane especially considering the reliance on digital distribution the system has now late in its life.

Yeah the first wave of Vita games that got a lot of printings do go for reasonable prices. But the truly weeb niche stuff was expensive on release and stays expensive. For example, both htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary and Toukiden: Kiwami have been out for a while for the system, and I've never seen either even close to $20, let alone below it. Special tastes have special costs.

It might seem that way given the lack of advertisement and shelf space the system's library gets. I just checked GameFAQs and it lists 4 pages of Vita games actually released in the US: http://www.gamefaqs.com/vita/category/9 ... 1&region=1

Granted quite a few are digital only I imagine.

It got lowered to $20 either new or used.

I had to order one from site to store, since my three local stores were out.

I ordered it used since the game is no longer available new online.

I hope i get it with the box. Cause if not, its getting returned.

It's currently selling brand new on Amazon for $32.70. Which is higher than $20 admittedly, but is still lower than what I paid for it when it was first released.

Most of the games I'm interested in on the system are still £25-35 here, which is roughly the same price they were when they came out.

Same... It seems like Vita games (other than the early run of games like Killzone, Tearaway, Gravity Rush, Uncharted etc) hold their value well here. I was hoping (perhaps, stupidly of me) that there might be some decent Vita games in the January sales, but all the games I'm interested in are still in that £25 - 35 range.

I have mentioned in the past, there is no lack of good or even great games on the Vita, its just that Sony really messed it up with the memory cards, and I believe writing games for Vita is not that hard for many publishers compared to PS3 or 4, its just the market.

I do say Sony is still keeping afloat - it agree to pickup tabs for Banner Saga on Vita, and does support developers translating JP games.
