No doubt. My lawyer said, in more words "The cop was covering his own ass". That rings of truth since the cop said "I'll let the court system settle it out".

This is life, and if the kid didn't call his "mommy" neither of us would have lost time nor money. I totally understand that his Mom wants to look out for her son; I would be the same, but... That kid needs to grow a set. I played it really cool, but I bet if I had told him "What the fuck do you think you're doing!?!" rather than "Are you alright?" I could have just drove off.

That's not me though (in my dream I drove off). I always try to do the right thing (as well enforce doing the right thing) Just one of those things that you have to deal with. If I had the same situation happen again, I don't think I would have done anything differently. Not much ya can do in situations like these.

But if I do have a claim on my insurance, I will refuse to pay.

^ Eh, always best to call police imo. Could have internal / unseen damage on both the vehicle or on the person. There are numerous accounts of people walking around for a few days w/a broken back or neck, or brain bleed, etc. Adrenaline kicks in you think your fine, couple hours later your a bit sore, next day you can't move. Call it in, have it documented. Most minor traffic accidents take 15-20 mins. total to call in police, have them give you a case number, take some pics, take some statements and most importantly, sign off in front of the officer that they believe themselves and their vehicle to be tip-top. I'd tell my kid to do the same thing.

Oh, I agree.

That in mind, our cars kissed (there was NO impact, just my car touching his). It was less violent and less contact than kicking a tire. The kid just got got worried and had to call his Mommy. If I was his Mother I would ask for a report. If I was him, I would have said "I'm sorry, let's just go". He'll have to learn the hard way.

2 cars ago I had an idiot stop on an interstate onramp in front of me. I stopped fine but the guy behind me didn't. I ended up with 2 black paint tear spots from his front license plate screws in my rear bumper cover. I think I'd had the car less than a year at this point but I was 4 hours away heading home with a carload of friends after a convention. Despite being pissed, it just wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with insurance or any court stuff that far away.

Smile: Just went to roll down the screen on my patio and there are 25-30 big dragon flies circling around right outside.

I believe, unless Sesame Street steered me wrong, that dragon flies can fly in excess of 30 MPH.

*swoosh, off to google!*

edit*Grover was right. They can speed up to over 36 MPH, and have been around for 3 million years. I'm sure their speed helps with their continued existence.

Apparently they were a helluva lot bigger in the old days.

This one's a model (obviously) but it still makes me want to hide the children.

Dragon flies are neat but I'm in awe of hummingbirds. My in-laws in VT are fortunate to always have 8-10 hummingbirds flying around their flowers and feeders all day.

Me, I only see them a few times in spring. I should try to put the feeder out.

Smile - discovered that I can get more maps for Halo Reach
Ticked - I discovered this two years after it came out and only because I need to do a crashcourse in it tonight because I am going to go and have my butt handed to me tomorrow when I help with a youth event. They can wipe the floor with me in Halo but they cant come close when we play any pc shooter...

Halo Reach has been out for one year, not two. Sprinting with a shotgun, going nuts with grenades, and racking up some melee kills is an easy strategy for the occasional play.
