I dunno...I've always rather disliked "Caucasian" and "African-American".

It's so much easier to use "white" and "black", or even better, euphemisms! We've got salt 'n pepper, white chocolate & dark chocolate, the list goes on. Damn it, now it's not controversial at all! I've gone and made it fun.

Shit.

I'm not sure what alternate titles for a Kevin Costner film have to do with this.

I honestly think he has a desire to spend his life in prison. Always has been a show off desperately trying to prove how big of a thug he is.

This should probably go in the random thoughts thread, but since I'm here:

Had a dream I had an aquarium in my gameroom that was inhabited solely by a group of seahorses.

And now, I really want an aquarium full of seahorses. Besides cleaning up and scooping out the dead ones, I imagine owning seahorses would provide some tranquility.

until you learn seahorses are a bitch to care for. probably one of the hardest fish to keep because of bad breeders and they are just tentative fish. plus a good size salt water setup will run you 3-5 grand lol. i stuck with 150g freshwater

 I promise if I do get an aquarium I will do just that.

In related fish news...

Smile: I'm throwing a pre-bachelor bachelor/birthday party for a friend tonight. I was thinking about getting the dude some clothes (I buy my friends button ups a lot), but now I'm thinking about buying him a beta, a bowl, water cleanser, fish food, and a cool set up for the fish. I think twenty bucks could buy a pretty sweet set up.

So what are you nards doing for the Superbowl?

I'm going to be spending most of the weekend getting everything out of my kitchen cabinets; I'm getting it remodeled on the 9th but demo is on the 7th.

betas need filters and air pumps just like any other fish. the 1 betas needs about 5 gallons with 75 degree temp so a heater also. i know they sell them in little bowls at the store but the thing's going to die with the minimal setup you listed.

I have betas on my kitchen counter. 1 is in a 1 gallon pickle jar, 1 is in a 1.5 gallon bowl - alive for years. No heat pump, no filter.

Feed every day or two.
Change out 1/3 of the water every week or two.

Happy / Active fish...as far as happy / active fish go.

understood, but in the hobby that's just not how it's done.
