Yeah I wouldn't mind hearing ds expand a bit more on that. You guys said some great stuff so I'm glad I ranted.
Just wonder if some others are kind of in a similar boat right now so we can have a pity party, but yeah.
The low risk thing is very good. 2014 was way too quiet... I do need to make this a busier year and just be more active in general, even though I'm easily stressed haha. The tradeskill point is a good one too, I've heard plumbers make some pretty good money around here, welding is supposedly pretty big too now I think? Hmm.

Welders always have a job, but it isn't for everybody, trust me there. There is, of course, the skills needed, along with how uncomfortable of a job it can be.
Welder burns are waaaay worse than any sunburn.

I've had soldering iron burns, how does that compare?

I meant burns from the light itself. If we're talking getting hit by an arc, whole 'nother story. The two times I've had it happen I pissed myself like nobody's business.

I don't know if anyone has wondered what happened to me/cares but for some reason I felt like telling you guys.
I don't know if any of you remember, but my mom cheated on my dad and they've been arguing a lot, she's been attacking my dad somewhat, I think I already said she had been arrested once. She got arrested again... a month and a half ago? Two months? Not sure to be honest, all my days run together and I can't focus on anything any more, grades plummeting, etc. Dad unfortunately let her come back after a friend paid her bail and things have been a little quieter. Not as many attacks but they still happen. I haven't been hit but it's almost happened before and a CPS worker talked to me a while back. Nothing's came out of it though and I'm tempted to call them myself if anything else happens. My dad started the divorce paper work but he's really dragging his feet with it. I'm going to have to sit down and talk with him about that soon, getting tired of his shit too.
At least I'm alive.

This sucks. I would offer that if you don't feel safe, you should indeed contact cps. Maybe it will be the kick in the ass your dad needs to straighten up. It's anonymous so no possible backlash. You could find your school counselor and talk to them about it, they would do the reporting for you. There isn't any good reason to live in an environment like that.
EDIT: And try to keep your head up. I know that is silly to think about in a situation like that, but you can get out and live a normal life. Don't forget there is hope.

I kinda grew up around situations like this on the regular, so I really really feel for you. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

Things have been a bit calmer lately, but next time I get the chance I'm straight up telling my dad I'm tired of him dragging his feet and if anything else happens past a shouting match I'm calling CPS. The main problem is I'm afraid for my father's job; he's a police officer and could lose it due to something like this.

I understand that, but he should be worried about making a stable home for you. If he needs more motivation than you telling him you don't feel safe then something is wrong. I'm not saying that he isn't a victim in this too, assuming that's the case...but he is the adult, and the one with the power to change things. Your mom obviously needs some help too. Don't wait for things to boil over again before you address the situation, that's a bad idea.

I gotta wait for a bit longer, I really do need to talk to my dad about all this first.
