Wii-U thoughts so far

Actually, it has been mentioned in several places that Wii Party U does indeed have a confusing control scheme in regard to rolling dice and changing controllers.

Hmm, does it? Never had an issue with Nintendo Land. But maybe just that game in particular is poorly done.

Probably. Are any games in that 'Wii Party' series ever particularly good? I played, I think, the first one and it wasn't great in my opinion.

Sony's first party devs generally deliver some really cool and unique games. I could understand buying a PS4 at launch just for that.

Personally, I don't see anything on the horizon for PS4 that's even close to as interesting to what's already on the Wii U plus the upcoming Wii U games.

Nothing yet maybe, but I'm pretty confident that the same Sony that gave us weird shit like Echochrome will deliver on the PS4.

The Witness and Hyper Light Drifter are two that fit the bill for me.

I personally think that Nintendo is going more to the quality over quantity side right now. The Wii had a ton of games but damn a large percentage of crap. There is enough quality to own both a Wii and a Wii U.

I was an extreme Wii hater till late in the Wii's life. Still dont like motion controls but there is enough classic/Gamecube controller games to keep me well satisfied.

I guess we define "interesting" differently. I want my new consoles to push new experiences, new IPs, new graphics, and take new approaches to all aspects of games. That's what I find to be interesting. Nintendo's IPs for the past ~10 years or more haven't really done that, while Sony's have. Sony's announced a number of upcoming games that I find to be more "interesting" than any Wii U Nintendo IP (e.g. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, The Order 1886, etc.) and they have a much more robust stable of ndie devs (read: potential for interesting games) than Nntendo by far.

The Xbox One I am only getting because I don't have to pay for it...but it, too, offers what I find to be a series of more interesting hardware innovations than the Wii U.
