The Japanese in that one is just a little too strong for me. But it is a great-looking game.

yeah i found a good deal on it a while back, apparently it released really late in the PCE life and is rather uncommon, the Saturn port is much easier to find. Released at the end of 1995, so doubt many were printed. Beautiful game that rivals SNES graphics, i think the story is sort of like a version the story of Jesus and Mary from the bible. There is a good walkthrough somewhere and i plan to play through it.

I'm gonna purchase it soon. Any idea where to get a walkthrough? The ones linked at The Brothers Duomazov website is now dead.

Obscure JRPGs on the PC Engine? I plan on buying the Far East of Eden games one day even though I don't know any Japanese and don't plan on following any walk throughs Sounds about as good as my idea to stop making a map in Phantasy Star after the first dungeon.

Got some new Hu-Cards to bolster my collection.

R-Type I used to own complete on the Wii VC although it seems to be much more difficult than I remember as I got decimated on the first stage here! Was the original Japanese version harder?

Ken Chan and Kato Chan is a very WTF Wonderboy game that arrived heavily censored of its toilet humour in the west.

Nectaris is easier to understand than I thought it would be. I'm pretty confident I'll be able to figure it out despite not understanding the parts of the menu that are in Japanese.

Barunga seems to have an interesting gimmick (360 degrees cannon) but one that isn't very well implemented with only two buttons.

MOMOTARŌ DENSETSU II seems like it will be too impenetrable for me as it is a text heavy RPG. Can anyone recommend a guide?

Valkyrie no Densetsu is the game I bought this combo for and it hasn't let me down. A nice Kikikaikai style overhead shooter/plaform exploration game. until I got it I also had no idea about the connection between this game and the SNES title Whirlo/Xandra no Daibōken. I'll have to seek out a guide for the multiple choice quiz sections though.

Nectaris is pretty easy to play without understanding the language. You can move units, attack, and deploy from factories. The important things are the numbers and those are in Arabic numerals.

Nice! Check out the crunchy old ARPG on the Fami too, that's the first game in the series.

I forget if you have a PC Engine CD. If you do you should try Fray CD: Xak Gaiden, which plays pretty similar to Valkyrie no Densetsu.
