I have played that game. I recall not liking it.

The Lufia ones aren't cheap either. That's what I'm still missing. And FFV isn't expensive. You should be able to find that for a fiver.
Also, what's so bad about Tecmo's SotS? It doesn't look that bad from the 5-10 minutes of gameplay I watched, with the exception of the names and dialogue. It looks pretty equivalent to FFMQ on that front, though.

How is that one? I have been eyeing it for a while (i.e., ever since I saw it at a movie rental store in the mid-90s) but I have never played it?Ack wrote:By the way, I mentioned it in the other thread where it came up, but the company that released Cacoma Knight and Kendo Rage also released a game called Musya: The Classic Tale of Japanese Horror.

Personally, I haven't played it. Bone recalls not liking it. Anyone else give Musya a try?

It's poorly designed to the point where it's borderline broken.o.pwuaioc wrote: Also, what's so bad about Tecmo's SotS?

Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
It feels like a game designed in RPG Maker (just look at the graphics) by someone who didn't understand RPG design. It's completely unbalanced. There are several hidden characters - all who are completely useless. Certain key items are near impossible to find (at one point you need a nail - you get it by pressing A at a certain spot in front of a certain house, guess you're yanking it out of the wall), the magic/combo system is completely non-intuitive, the final boss is damn near impossible unless you're insanely overleveled or have been hoarding every MP-refiling item, the dialogue is nonsensical and in ALL CAPS, the battles drag on and are dull (fighting the Tecmo Football players is fun I guess), I could go on...............
Oh, and the most ridiculous thing is the party system. Yeah you have two parties in the game you can switch between - one comprised of kids, the other of adults. It's a novel concept and Tecmo could have done something with it, but oh man was it horribly implemented. For one thing, you never (at least not until the end of the game) switch between parties due to any actual plot developments. Instead the game features an arbitrary assortment of "gates" that only the children or adults can pass through. Most hilarious of all, the switching between the parties doesn't even approach a 50/50 ratio in the slightest - the kids are used for 95% of the game.
I think this screenshot sums it all up quite well:

Sounds like another game I would like to play just for the lols. I'll get a rom and a hacked save file to get through the battles and laugh
