Yeah, I prefer full albums as well. I'm that way about most music. I never just buy an MP3. I always like to see what else the artist has to offer.

Here's a few vocaloid albums I have liked:

Supercell: "Supercell featuring Hatsune Miku" (This is basically essential listening for vocaloid fans, since this album is the basis for much of the live performances with Hatsune Miku)
Ryuryu: "Homeland"
Hachi: "Official Orange"
Clean Tears: "Shime Deadline"
Sososo (Tsukui Kazuhito): "World Breakout feat. Megurine Luka"

There are also a bunch of compilation albums that all have the same format title of "EXIT MUSIC PRESENTS...".

I have a few of those and I'll check the rest out. Supercell is pretty cool. The group still exists, but now they have a human singer! I've been meaning to check out the new album for a while.

I have "Today Is A Beautiful Day" by them, which has Yanagi Nagi on vocals. Hearing them with a human singer makes me realize how much I like them because of vocaloid. I think it is a good album, but it just doesn't have the same spark as their album featuring Hatsune Miku. Supercell's use of live instrumentation makes Hatsune Miku seem more alive, and Hatsune Miku's vocaloid strangeness makes Supercell seem more unique. They work well together. Supercell with Yanagi Nagi sounds like a really good J-pop rock album, but it doesn't stand out of the crowd in quite the same way as when they use Miku.

I'll judge it for myself, but I agree when you say Miku is what makes Supercell such a pleasure. The songwriting is well-done, but it's also similar and simple. The real joy is ryo's total mastery of Miku, right? I wish I had that kind of skill with the guitar.

High Tech Soul - The Creation of Techno Music

I stumbled upon this earlier today. A fantastic documentary on the roots of Detroit techno, touching on its worldwide influence.

It's an hour long, but well worth it.

I remember seeing this a few years ago, such a great documentary. Love Detroit techno and especially the Belleville three.

That whole album is pretty decent. Her voice can get grating at times, but overall I think she does a good job of exploring unique textures while keeping it poppy.
