Sweet! It'll be fun. How long is the game, anyone know?

Having a full time job has killed my gaming but I'll try to participate with a very truncated list:

Two leftovers from last year and a new entry:

Metroid Prime 2
Metroid II: Return of Samus
Super Paper Mario
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Oh good. Now I don't feel so alone with my measly three game list.

Life gets in the way sometimes. Last year I had too much on my plate. I was starting this job and only got maybe a quarter of my list done. This year I'd like to finish the whole thing, even if it's not much of a list.

OK, Oracles of Seasons has been taken down. I havent posted my thoughts on it much mostly because I've beaten it several times before, but I haven't played it in a while, and my opinions on it have changed a little.

Even after all this time, it's noticable how lacking the story in this one is compared to it's counterpart Ages -whereas Ages features it's oracle as a main plot point, has several characters introduced it it'splot such as Queen Ambi and Ralph, Seasons features an Oracle locked up in a crystal the entire game, and a villain who literally appears at the start and end of the game only. It's still a great game, but it's an odd juxtaposition next to Ages story, which I quite enjoy despite it's limitations on an 8 bit system. I've heard people say that Ages is more puzzle focused and Seasons more combat based, but I don't know if I agree. For the most part there werent too many hard battles (except the final boss, who is harder than I recalled). The puzzles in Seasons are easier, but I question if that was a conscious choice by the designers.

The mechanic of the game, switching the seasons, honestly feels rather limited. Whereas Ages time travel was quite interesting and used in fun ways, Seasons whole mechanic basically boils down to - switch to spring to change make a path, switch to winter to change a path, switch to summer...etc. It makes me wonder how the colour based puzzles of the 3rd planned oracles game would have been, because they sound more interesting that this. That said, the dungeons are fun, the game is more difficult than most zelda games without being frustrating, and the items and enemies are fun. It's still an aamazing game, I can just see a few more flaws in this one compared to Ages.

Lets see if my opinion of Ages holds up as well when i play through the linked game later!

Anyway, with that done, I'm ready to start FF IV whenever you are Dsheinem! And everyone else who'll be playing it too!

So, I apparently own the USA version of FFIV Advance which is apparently a bit of a glitchfest in battles. Is there anything I should be aware of in regards to this?

EDIT: So I started this, I got through the first bit of the game, up to the point where Edward joins the party. I hate how the early game saddles you with loads of party members who are fairly useless for random encounters.

I started up Fallout for a bit. I made it to Vault 15, but I need an item to proceed and that's where I took a break. The game is pretty slow paced, but turning on always run alleviated that a good bit.

I still hate isometric perspective though.

I wanted to get it going at least, but beyond that I'm not really sure what I want to play first. I guess I could get going on FFIV, since that seems to be coming up for a few of you guys now.

I dunno.

Edit: So yeah, I attacked FF4.

I sat down intending to play for an hour or two, but instead the game completely sucked me in and I played for far longer. 5:44 according to the game clock. I've just arrived at Troia.

If I keep going at this pace the game won't last much longer. It helps though, that I have no obligations tomorrow (today really), so I could stay up playing worry free.

Question for those who've beaten the game already.
Is it possible to beat Kain in the battle at Fabul? I got wasted pretty quick, but its obviously a fight you're supposed to lose. So I was wondering it you could win if you were to spend a stupid amount of time leveling up first.

so I've started playing Cave Story when I could this weekend. I'm having a blast with it. I have gotten to a point where I'm a little stumped about how to free this character from a door that's rusted shut. He/she suggests we knock it down somehow, but I'm not sure how. Anyway, great game as far as I can tell so far.
