Whenever alternate histories are mentioned I am immediately reminded of this book

It's an alternate history take on World War 2 and its aftermath, written by acclaimed author Philip K. Dick.RCBH928 wrote:Whats with this novel?

History IS written by the winners, for the past 3-4 thousand years but thankfully in some of the more modern cases people can tell apart if there is a good or bad guy in a war.RCBH928 wrote:I see where you are coming from but let us not forget that Hitler was man of the year according to American Time magazine , which featured Staling twice, Khumieni of Iran, Churchil, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Karter and Regan.
I think the guys that lost are portrayed as evil and the guys that won are portrayed as the saviors . In a parallel universe, what if Hitler won the war? Would Churchil be the blood sucking politician ?
And in this case the one in power is clearly acting like a dictator.
Compare it with the protests in Brazil, where the president has done so many things to apologize to the protestors and is reforming the country to make it less corrupt.

If you would like to know there will be a huge rally against Egypt's elected president by the liberals on June 30th . The problem is , the president's supporter are even larger in number...
prepare to hear about deaths..
I included a poll on Al Jazeera's website , where the inquiry was "Do you support stripping Egypt's president from power?"
17%-Yes
82%-No

Hasn't the Egyptian military already moved into place to try and prevent violence?
Re: So the Islamic world is kind of falling apart...
maybe prevent violence but not rallying . Its a protest which I believe is legal under a democracy , so legally they cant stop people from rallying against the president ... freedom of speech.

There's a difference between protesting and rioting though, and it sounds like the anti-Muslim Brotherhood protests have turned into riots. As of now, an ultimatum has been given to President Morsi to step down in the next 24 hours... We'll see what happens. If Morsi is removed, I wonder if this would touch off a second round of uprisings in the Middle East and surrounding nations which casts out the extremist religious organizations that gained the upperhand in many countries after the first round.RCBH928 wrote:maybe prevent violence but not rallying . You see that is the issue...
While Anti- President are many (millions) his supporters are in the millions too , and as far as I can tell he has more supporters than his opponents . So what do you think will happen if the "minority" remove the majority's choice by force?
that is the issue , if everyone wanted the president to step down like it happened with the previous president ... then its a no issue. Civil war is at hand ...
May I add Syrian president still bombing his own country?
