Actually, there's a good chance it might. Comics are being printed in the lower runs than has been seen in the industry for decades. So if you have some key moment from this era, it's actually likely to go up.
Is that due to decreased interest, or because people are buying them digitally?
Probably a combination of both.

Thanks. I know that I often ramble so those come in handy.

As for the DC Reboot, I would call it a success. It did get people reading and talking about DC again even if some of the books were sub-par.

Well, I've got a bunch of first prints now. Picked up first prints of Supergirl, Batman and Robin and Wonder Woman and almost every other new 52 book I've gotten since this started is apparently first print since I didn't see "second print" or "third print" anywhere on them except for my copy of Action Comics # 1. That one said second print on the page in the back with all the legal info

I have to say this is getting expensive

It's a one time thing tough, once a year I splurge on something. This year it's comics I guess. It's a big event for DC, so it's fun being a part of that

I read Batman Detective Comics # 1 last night and it was epic, a perfect, classic Batman versus Joker story. Batman was a bit melodramatic at times though with lines like, "I was here in Gotham forever. I AM Gotham" and "the Joker toxin is going through my pores and affecting my nerves, but I can take it. I'M BATMAN!"

If you're the freaking Batman, you don't need to try so hard to convince readers that you're awesome. WE KNOW!!!!

but it was still great though. I'm not sure which I loved more, Detective Comics # 1 or Batman # 1. I think Batman # 1 was a nice, thorough representation of everything that makes Batman a fantastic character and really covered all the bases to get newbs up to speed on the character. Detective Comics # 1 was more epic though, like a cinematic thrill ride. It really presented Batman and Joker as the iconic, larger than life characters that they are. I think that an animated version of that whole issue would be perfect as one of those fifteen minutes shorts they include with most of the new DC animated, straight to video movies

We've all talked about how crazy it is how many Batman books there are. Well today I found out that DC also just put out two mini-series. One for Huntress and another for the freaking Penguin :o

That wasn't the biggest surprise of my trip to the shop today though. DC just put out issue number 1 of SUPERNATURAL!!! That's the CW show about two brothers who hunt demons, ghosts and other nasty things. It's like the modern day equivalent of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This show has now spawned a comic(and apparently, this isn't the first foray into comics for the show as I later found out)as well as a Japanese anime series!

That's pretty damned impressive to me and makes me love the show even more

So, where do yout guys get your comics? I've been going to Hastings and I've looked at Things From Another World. Hastings is okay, but it is hard to get any type of TP, and they don't carry huge amounts of new comics, so going this weekend when I have time they probably won't have any first prints. I'm looking to get All Star Westerns, some Batman (Batman and Detective Comics? I'm open as long as he doesn't have a side kick.) and anything else that catches my eye. I'll look through Space Booger's reviews some more if I can. I thought about reading Axe Cop too, but I have heard it is too far off due to its writing.

I'm also not very happy with some of the random pick ups I've done. I'm kinda scared to do it anymore because of this. Anywhere good for reviews? (I do plan to keep up with what Space Booger reviews, I like his style of writing.)

I like Spaceboogers reviews, but I have noticed that opinions on the new 52 on different websites and podcasts are all over the place. It's hard to know what every individual will like or not like among those 52 books. It really all comes down to individual taste. From what I've seen though, Batman # 1 seemed to be loved by almost everyone who has read it and I've seen a lot of positive response to Detective Comics # 1 as well. Seems like they may be the benchmark for the various Bat books. Not everyone is into the sidekicks, but I have to say again how much I liked Batgirl # 1

I have two local comic shops I get my books from. One I always go to for regular comics and I get good treatment there for being a regular. The other I go to when I want to find a specific graphic novel or trade paperback that I can't find because they carry just about every one of those you can think of in that place. Whenever I buy one, the guy marks it off on some list so I think he constantly replaces whatever gets sold

I'm told there used to be tons of comic shops in the Florida area I live in, but they are all gone now except for those two. Maybe too much competition drove the others out of business

But, Hastings will do for now.

I shop with Midtown Comics exclusively now. I have to wait for shipping, sure, but I pay less than the cover price for all my comics (15% off the new weeklies) shopping with them. It's pretty insane when you consider how much comic shops love to raise the prices of their stock. Most of the new 52's were going for double, even triple, the cover price at the comic shops by my house.

With my subscription to Midtown Comics I don't miss a single issue. Hell, they even allow me to buy multiple copies (if you order in advance), an' for someone who has to buy at least two issues of the comics that matter that's a big deal!
