Re: Playstation Vita thread
^Wow, I completely forgot about that one ><; (I did hear about it but forgot to write it down gah). I haven't really played any of the Luminous Arc games (just a little bit of the first game) but it definitely looks like a game that I would enjoy...
But speaking of newly released Vita games... Corpse Party: Blood Drive came out a few days ago. I haven't finished the other two games in the series yet (still on the first one) but I got a copy anyway ha... I heard it was a limited print run so I just couldn't help myself ><; Anyone else planning on getting this? Certainly would fit the Halloween spirit lol

I was always interested in the series but I've missed getting the other two on the PSP and the second was a digital only release I believe so that's a major sticking point for me.

Re: Playstation Vita thread
Tomorrow I'm going to a Hastings to trade in a ton of DVD's.
In the hopes I can get a decent Vita memory card with the trade in credit.
A few weeks ago I picked up a bunch of DVD's on the cheap. Well, I've been buying lots of dvds for a good long time now.
I posted a few years back how I used to hustle and trade DVDs into stores for store credit. I decided to do it again!
I picked up these two bunches of stuff for $7.00. I'm keeping a few, but the rest are trade fodder for the store.

Lets see how much $7.00 of media will turn into store credit over there!
Plus I'm taking excess movies that I dont want anymore or that I've upgraded to blu-ray.
I'm expecting some good chunk of change here!
I'm hoping to get a 16gb or maybe more vita games? It is a media store! I got four bags worth of Movies for them to resell. Its a win-win for everyone!
Wish me luck!

Re: Playstation Vita thread
Yeah the first two are digital only in NA which is pretty lame... I was pretty hesitant about getting them for a while for that reason, but they were on sale recently so I finally caved in and got them. Still slightly annoyed that we didn't get physical versions, but since they're digital I can play them on my Vita TV so that's nice at least.casterofdreams wrote:I was always interested in the series but I've missed getting the other two on the PSP and the second was a digital only release I believe so that's a major sticking point for me.
I've been waffling about whether to get Hotaru no Nikki so much. It looks really nice, but I've heard the controls are kind of awkward and I'm not sure what the puzzles are like. I get way too frustrated with puzzles in some games so I find I need to be cautious with puzzley games... I've bought way too many interesting looking games but had to stop because of the puzzles ><;Exhuminator wrote:Here's a 2015 Vita release that I bet flew under everybody's radar:

Re: Playstation Vita thread
Ah right they would work for the PS TV. That's good to know for the future.
I'm still trucking along Borderlands 2. A dozen hours in. Hard crashed twice in the same area but not a big deal. It made me aware that the Vita has a Safe Mode. I've gotten used to the frame rate even in heavy environments like Sanctuary. The gunplay is typical BL2 and no compromise on things like missions and gun variety. I'm still taken aback that the full Borderlands experience fit onto one Vita card (sans dlc).
In the eyes of the PC Master Race, it's like I went from being a rich big shot, discovering drugs, booze, and gambling, and then declaring bankruptcy a year later and having to deal with peasant handheld ports thinking of how things used to be.
Still fun though!

Re: Playstation Vita thread
Or perhaps like you realized that a Civic will get you around town just as well as the Lamborghini did, while costing far less money. The Vita still captures that BL2 gameplay and does the job, without being a multi-hundred dollar gaming rig.casterofdreams wrote:In the eyes of the PC Master Race, it's like I went from being a rich big shot, discovering drugs, booze, and gambling, and then declaring bankruptcy a year later and having to deal with peasant handheld ports thinking of how things used to be.
I know you were being facetious. But this PC master race meme still bugs me. PCs may be the most impressive way to experience a game from a hardware pushing perspective, but considering how few exclusives PCs actually get these days, it's hardly an independent format worthy of fervent fan loyalty. There's nothing special about PC gaming outside its pixel power and perpetually open legs. Perhaps the one special thing is how easy it is to mod games on PC, but honestly most mods don't impress me. And the funny thing is, PC gaming is actually still being held back by console limitations even to this day, despite what elitists might wish to delude themselves in believing. I say all this as someone who owns multiple gaming PCs btw. Sure I love to play games on PC, but I love to play games on Game Boy just as much.

"but considering how few exclusives PCs actually get these days"
lol wut. That was a joke, right?
I think I'm gonna do that hack to my Vita. Vita seems like it's pretty much done at this point, so I don't think I'll be losing much by taking it eternally offline.

Re: Playstation Vita thread
I just thought it was a joke because it's pretty obvious that there's only one gaming platform with zero barrier of entry and thus easily the most exclusive games from that fact alone. For example, here's some games you will definitely never see on console, ever: http://i.imgur.com/VlaPxsc.jpg
As for the Vita, it's "legacy" now. I know there's still some games in the pipeline, but it's drying up faster than a spill in the Sahara. Not seeing much that interests me at this point after Persona Persona Revolution so I just see little reason not to go beyond Sony's terms of service.
