Welcome! I assume YAM would be the go to for what to call you? I'm just curious for future reference.

I didn't realize this thread existed before I started posting elsewhere, but better late than never! XP
I've been using the Racketboy 'Guides' for years without ever really realizing that there was a forum community to go along with it, so I decided it was about time to see what the other people who frequent here are like. I'm only 20, but I've been collecting games for over a decade, and playing them basically since I was cognitively able (my older brother already had a SNES when I was born, which I 'inherited,' I guess).
I tend to like RPG's and action-adventure games the best, but occasionally strategy games like Civ and Fire Emblem too. Anything that can get me really engaged via a good story or progression model, I can get behind. Over the past year I've been on a JRPG kick which hasn't stopped, so that's been fun
Glad to meet your respective acquaintances!

I am an avid collector. I've been collecting video games and video game memorabilia for about 20 of my 29 years and the collection keeps growing. I wouldn't say I have a main focus in collecting, I just kinda like to give everything a try and tend to find a joy and redeeming quality for any game I play even the worst ones. I've been told this in passing and it may be a character flaw. -shrug
I would say my favorite console is the Super Nintendo and the jRPGs and action platformers of yesteryear always pull at my heart strings. My current favorite game(s) are anything in the Souls series(Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne*not a Souls game but same concept). I also LOVE music and art. Playing and listening to music or drawing and painting are things that rivals my love for gaming. My favorite band of all time is R.E.M.
Well, that's about it. Sorry for rambling and I hope to see you all around the forums and join in on conversations with you all!
Take care and happy holidays!

Finally decided to introduce myself after a few weeks lurking the place ^^
Currently I'm mostly catching up on the previous gen but I sure have a retro heart and like to play the old classics I never had the chance to own as a kid (and there are just so many...).
I used to collect games (SFC, Saturn) but I sold quiet everything since I was no longer enjoying that.
I still tend to own physical copies of what I'm playing though.
I also started playing golf (which is my main hobby now) and quickly became nuts about it
Alright, that's pretty much it folks !
NB : sorry for the potential grammar mistakes and bad syntax since English is not my mother tongue. Feel free to correct me, i'm always happy to improve myself ^^

If you are into video game music, I highly recommend a podcast that one of our beloved members, Key-Glyph, has that can be found here. They take requests and talk about what makes the music so appealing from the games of yore.
Hi ! Actually that's short for "Yamcha" the dumb DBZ character (and I'm not even a fan of this anime, don't ask me why I thought of this ^^).Forlorn Drifter wrote:Welcome! I assume YAM would be the go to for what to call you? I'm just curious for future reference.
Currently I'm a lot into the Mega Drive/Genesis library and most particularly with the Wonder Boy series. Speaking of which, I must say I'm not quite fond of the remake's graphics and musics. But we'll see !BogusMeatFactory wrote:What are some of the systems that you are visiting that you missed out on?

Didn't see your response but yeah I meant Europe. "Le Vieux Continent" as one says where I live.samsonlonghair wrote:By the way, I take it "the old continent" means Europe not Asia, right?
