Nice finds, emwearz, and the price was definitely right! "Metal Arms", "Wet" and "Sonic Racing Transformed" are personal favorites. In the US, "Wet" on the PS3 has really gone up in value over the past couple of years. Enjoy your games!

I had a day off today and decided to game hunt in some of the dingier corners of the local wild (second class pawnshops and flea markets where items are just strewn on the floor). It may have been a bit of a health/safety risk, but it worked out (as it does about once out of every 1000 visits). I found the following:

"Drakan: The Ancient's Gate" PS2. CIB, excellent condition and scent free, $5.00. I'm trying to find every game that combines dungeon crawling and dragons. This is one of the best. Stuck in a stack of used DVDs.

"Quake III" PS2, CIB, excellent condition, smells fine, $3.00. More playable than the Dreamcast port due to the ability to use a dual stick controller. Also very fast on the PS2 and many single player/offline modes. In a case with a CIB VMU for the Dreamcast (green) that the same seller wanted $50 for!

"Star Raiders" Atari 5200, CIB, no smell, $2.00! I am a sucker for any boxed Atari games (2600, 5200, 7800). This is a great port and I finally have a the much needed overlays!

All in all a good day. Good hunting to everyone!

My girlfriend's company was moving into a new office the other day and the previous tenant left behind some gaming stuff that was going to be thrown out. She was able to snag a nice batch of SNES carts for me.

I already own Cybernator, DKC 2, and Super Mario All-Stars, but the All-Stars cart is an upgrade over the one I have. I could potentially use the doubles for a trade or give them to my sister as she also has a SNES with a few games. Also, somehow I did not own a cart of Star Fox, so it's cool to be able to play that on legit hardware.

Anyway, I was quite happy to get a nice batch of games for free!

That's a great find, Note! Six of them even have the dust cover!

What an awesome score! There's some top-notch games there. I can't believe they were gonna be thrown out.

Having most of the dust covers is a nice bonus too. Don't see them on many games nowadays.

I was also surprised they were just going to be thrown out. Made me kind of sad actually. From my understanding, they were sitting in the space unused for years and none of her coworkers wanted them. Also, made me think about how niche this hobby really is.

Great find, Note!

It’s not necessarily a “good” game, but Royal Rumble is good button-mashing fun. Don’t sleep on that one!

How many stories have we heard over the years where a parent or spouse throws away an assortment of collectible things like video games or trading cards for mundane reasons such as “to make space” or “spring cleaning” and they don’t even know what they have in their hands.

I mean, I understand it. But at the same time, I always think “fuck those people!”
