As I've told you in another thread some months back, retailers make VERY little off of new games. If you're buying a game in a store for $60, the store paid something like $45-50 for that game. There might be cases where a huge chain can become their own supplier and cut out a middle man, but I haven't heard of that before (not that I've gone looking for that info).

Nintendo added scan modes in the Wii U system settings for Wii Games. I came across it the other day. So you can tell it how you want it to scale. It won't apply to pad displaying, though.

It just makes it so you don't have to switch scan modes on the TV when switching between Wii and Wii U games.

This thing is definitely slick and this Wii U Pro controller is awesome. Can you use this for Wii VC titles?

Unfortunately not. :(

The U Pro Controller is probably my favorite modern gamepad though. Love it to death.
Older. Not wiser.

I'm looking for this option, but can't find it.

I can't find it either, all I can see is the overscan setting for the console.

I'll have to look again, I have it hooked up through HDMI, though.

It's probably just the scan mode for the entire console, though I don't recall it using overscan while looking at Wii U content.

I'm just going to have to look again ... and that isn't going to happen for a couple days.
Maybe some people could do some tests, with it on and off with Wii U games and Wii games on the TV, see what happens. My first impression was that it's adaptive, but I could be wrong.

I just can't remember right now, I did this a couple weeks ago.

3D World beat!

Mind blown!

Hitting up the star world now.

And man, this controller already feels natural now. I figured I'd use the Pro controller whenever possible, but I'm no longer thinking that heh.

Star World is only the beginning. Postgame content makes up like 1/3 of the game at least.
