Thank you both Stark and BogusMeatFactory for the warm welcome!

BogusMeatFactory:

How nice it is to hear that more people seem to like video game music just as much as me, to think that you guys also had podcast about it hosted on this site. I will definitely check that one out!

Regarding favorite soundtracks I have a hard time picking favorites, some that stand out would be games/series like the Mana series , Ys-series, Super Robot Taisen series, I can go on forever about this but the favorites kind of changes from day to day depending on the mood. Almost every game has some tracks that are amazing in some way.

Streets of Rage I & II have some great tracks, you really can't go anywhere on the internet on any genesis/mega drive-related topic without hearing someone mention "Go Straight", the first stage from the second game. The Shining Force series was something I played through in recent years and the track that itched itself onto my mind the most was "Lively Town" from the second game, one of the best town themes there is. :D

Stay tuned for that video game music quiz, I'm aiming to get it up almost immediately after new year.

Hi everyone, econoemu signing in. I've been a lurker of racketboy for years and finally decided to join in on the fun with a bit of a push from jmbarnes101.

I am an avid collector. I've been collecting video games and video game memorabilia for about 20 of my 29 years and the collection keeps growing. I wouldn't say I have a main focus in collecting, I just kinda like to give everything a try and tend to find a joy and redeeming quality for any game I play even the worst ones. I've been told this in passing and it may be a character flaw. -shrug

I would say my favorite console is the Super Nintendo and the jRPGs and action platformers of yesteryear always pull at my heart strings. My current favorite game(s) are anything in the Souls series(Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne*not a Souls game but same concept). I also LOVE music and art. Playing and listening to music or drawing and painting are things that rivals my love for gaming. My favorite band of all time is R.E.M.

Well, that's about it. Sorry for rambling and I hope to see you all around the forums and join in on conversations with you all!

Take care and happy holidays!

Rambling is awesome. It's kinda the backbone of any text based interaction. Never apologize for it, and welcome!
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

Hello, everyone!

I didn't realize this thread existed before I started posting elsewhere, but better late than never! XP

I've been using the Racketboy 'Guides' for years without ever really realizing that there was a forum community to go along with it, so I decided it was about time to see what the other people who frequent here are like. I'm only 20, but I've been collecting games for over a decade, and playing them basically since I was cognitively able (my older brother already had a SNES when I was born, which I 'inherited,' I guess).

I tend to like RPG's and action-adventure games the best, but occasionally strategy games like Civ and Fire Emblem too. Anything that can get me really engaged via a good story or progression model, I can get behind. Over the past year I've been on a JRPG kick which hasn't stopped, so that's been fun :)

Glad to meet your respective acquaintances!
I identify everyone via avatar, so if you change your avatar, I genuinely might completely forget who you are. -- Me

Awesome man. You should take some pics of your collection and share it in the Game Room section!

Hi everyone, I'm Yam, soon to be 29 and inhabitant of the Old Continent.
Finally decided to introduce myself after a few weeks lurking the place ^^

Currently I'm mostly catching up on the previous gen but I sure have a retro heart and like to play the old classics I never had the chance to own as a kid (and there are just so many...).
I used to collect games (SFC, Saturn) but I sold quiet everything since I was no longer enjoying that.
I still tend to own physical copies of what I'm playing though.

I also started playing golf (which is my main hobby now) and quickly became nuts about it :D

Alright, that's pretty much it folks !

NB : sorry for the potential grammar mistakes and bad syntax since English is not my mother tongue. Feel free to correct me, i'm always happy to improve myself ^^
