How in the world? kinda freaked just reading that and wondering how in the heck that's even possible if it fell that long ago...
Thermal expansion theory is a simple idea with some crazy consequences. Hot glass and ceramics can contain an awful lot of energy.

I'm a warm person, so if it is in the 90% of the year where it is hot and humid here, too much facial hair makes me crankier than usual so I want to trim it mostly off a lot of the time. Because it is such a pain in the butt as it is thick as tree trunks and I'm already like sandpaper on one side of the face by the time I finish the other, I often just run a beard trimmer over my face so I have stubble.

I wish I could grow a big, full beard like my father. I'm pushing thirty now. Looks like it's not going to happen.

I prefer how I look with a bit of stubble, so I don't shave every day...but at least a couple of times a week. And I cut myself. I'm used to it.

I shave about twice a week, sometimes 3 times. I can grow an awesome Van Dyke, but the cheeks and neck never come in fully so full beard is out the window. I rarely if ever cut myself, but I do have super sensitive skin. At this point, now that I've switched to high-end stuff (DE safety razor, shaving soap, nice brush, pre-shave oil and good quality aftershave lotion) it only looks red and puffy for maybe a half hour tops, but before when I was using Mach 3's? Fuck, HOURS it was red and inflamed.

I really need to get into the habit of doing it every day or every other day, but when my job doesn't really care about my being clean-shaven, my family is used to my having 2 days growth, and I don't have a girlfriend to impress... it's hard to muster up the caring. I'm an awfully apathetic guy.

But you can bet your ass I shave before any date or any other important function (classy family dinners, funerals, weddings, etc)

I used to maintain a goatee, but I got lazy and would go a week in between shaving the sides, so I said screw it and went with the full beard. That I can get away with longer periods between trimmings.

Same here. Shaving always involves blood loss.

I read that as Ack dropping hints that he's suffering from depression.
