Yes, because it would be the fault of the regular employee, not the manager or suppliers up the chain.

Don't worry, I'm sure the elves will be back from vacation soon and will resume sprinkling crack in my morning coffee so I'm back to normal.

But if you tear the guy behind the counter a new one, then he'll have incentive to pass your complaint up the chain.

GAMESTOP FORCES ME TO BUY GAMES!!!

Has there been a valid complaint yet where buyer beware doesn't apply?

This thread should be titled "I'm not that smart and don't understand how retail works, and lemme explain why I'm dumb-ish".

I prefer "I haven't yet discovered Amazon".

Or better yet, "Why do I not play PC games?"

I like GameStop solely because it is fun hunting bargain bin games at the various locations around town. The chain clears shelf space like crazy, and it is constantly marking down pre-owned games. Many very good pre-owned games can be purchased there for less than the cost of shipping; so (and despite online retailers), I still think it is a good place to shop.

(I enjoy hunting for game deals almost as much as playing games; however, so I can understand why people might have different opinions on the chain.)

Bought Alien Colonial Marines "New" at Gamestop a few weeks ago since it was only $6 and I wanted to see if it was as bad as it is said to be. They grabbed a case off the shelf opened it and put a disc in it... Never going back to Gamestop.

You act like this is a new occurrence... most older games arent in shrinkwrap anymore. They consider a game to be new if it was never sold by them, or they didnt get it traded in.

They are like any retailer, you can swing a good deal if you know where to look. Other prices are a little high and you pass.

I still like the experience of going in a game store even if I don't buy much there anymore. Part of me knows that when they go the way of Blockbuster, I'll miss it. As easy the interwebs make buying stuff, there is still something about going somewhere and interacting with a human and having a conversation about games. I know some G-stop employees are annoying with constant badgering and selling after you have said no 3-4 times, but there have been some real nice one's along the way. I know the guy who I used to buy Genesis stuff from when I was a kid is the district manager now and he is still a nice guy.
