It was at our school, depending on the teacher, student, etc. Our school was pretty small, one of those cases where everybody knew everybody pretty much. Nobody knew me getting into high school besides those in my grade, because my older half-sister had a different last name. So, they see a kid with long hair, a Ranchero, facial hair (the only one in the school they never made shave, btw) and various trashy looking tshirts, and they kept an eye on me overall.
Why does this all matter? She was unmarried and young, and the year before a substitute had quit of her own accord due to students hitting on her. I'm not exactly what the school likes to see walking around. If anything that seemed like it could have led to anything more than being friendly, they would have checked out the whole situation. Certain bits of faculty are still wary when I come home.
Don't know though, that woman was beautiful.

Frown: Waking up to this thread being closed and the whirlwind of damage control going on in the moderator's secret underground cave. Let's be nicer to each other, okay?
Smile: Another Amiibo arrived in the mail. Star Fox this time. I cannot help it; I am addicted to the little things. I don't even use them for Smash Bros all that much. I just like having them on my TV stand.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I had a similar (ongoing) experience with Skylanders. We have 80 of them now. I shudder when I think about the money we've spent on them...

While I can somewhat agree a lot of the laws and people seem "backwater" in those two states, it's funny to hear someone living in Kentucky saying that.Tanooki wrote:Hey depending on the state that isn't an issue.Lots of states 16 is old enough, and it is in this state. I think something like backwater Alabama or Mississippi it's under that.
No state has an age of consent under 16. Some have it where you can marry earlier though.

My mom works as a paralegal and a few years back she had an older client come in who wanted a divorce from his 16 or 17 year old wife. His grounds for divorce "she acts like a child"pepharytheworm wrote: No state has an age of consent under 16. Some have it where you can marry earlier though.

Smile: Me and my girlfriend just got back from a Devin Townsend show.
Both of us had a ton of fun, it was my girlfriend's first time seeing a live concert of any sort. Plus he played Bad Devil, which is one of my favorite Devin Townsend tunes. Also some incredibly entertaining and funny self-deprecating banter between songs, but he's kinda known for that sort of on stage silliness.
Only regret is that I forgot to bring my Ziltoid puppet.
...also I didn't have any money for the merch table.

"Shmup" is far more elegant!

I thought it was gonna lead to Winger's "Seventeen". Literally the only line I know is "she's only seventeen", and that's only because of a commercial for a collection of monster ballads (or something like it).Sload Soap wrote:oxymoron wrote:Everyone started laughing and I sat there like "what am I missing". Was he supported by Periphery or Animals As Leaders?AppleQueso wrote:Smile: Me and my girlfriend just got back from a Devin Townsend show.![]()

I saw AAL with Tesseract a few weeks ago and they were fucking immense. Already got my tickets booked for Devin Townsend next year. Cannot fucking wait. I've seen Strapping Young Lad a few times and they were always amazing. This is the first time I'm seeing him with The Devin Townsend Project.
Thoughts on his latest album? I thought Sky Blue was a bit disappointing in places. Some serious anthems like Universal Flame are amazing but overall, a bit wishy-washy. It's kinda like a greatest hits of his previous stuff but nowhere near as heavy as Deconstruction. Z2 on the other hand... Ohhh boy. Absolute genius. Yes it's a bit trite in places but that's the point! I introduced my friend to Devin Townsend by playing Z2 on the way to Animals As Leaders and she was absolutely hooked.
It's easily my favourite Heavy Metal Opera. mainly because I've never heard any others, if they even exist, Repo perhaps?
