How far along are you?
Some of the things I found annoying early on, like capturing/riding beasts, were later replaced by upgraded weapons or magic that were a lot less tedious, and a bit more freeform. QTEs are QTEs though, of course.
While progress is linear, you do get a little of the Metroidvania aspect with finding all the upgrades, most of which will require you to revisit areas once you've unlocked later abilities.
The original 1994 Japanese King's Field via an English patch. (You probably all know the first King's Field we got in the USA was actually this game's sequel.) For a twenty year old curiosity piece made of geriatric polygons, somehow this remains an intriguing play. It's like wandering through a drunken minimalist impressionist's surreal nightmare of what a dungeon crawler could be. If I can manage to finish this crazy game I'll do a review on it at any rate.

When I tried to use my computer, I would stop and get confused if pressing a key on my keyboard would be the wisest first action, as the squares on the screen could become inaccessible.
That hasn't happened since, I guess my brain absorbed the information.
Lol that is awesome!
We were talking when I happened, I remember explaining to you that my brain feels very confused about the keyboard.
That first day, I did like, the first four Levels of the game (40 puzzles), the Tutorials (50), and the first world of Mysterious Pushmo (10).

Got to the first colossus. I remember these battles taking ages and saw some of my friends fighting the later ones. My patience was already thin and man... yikes. HOLD R2!!!!!!!!
I have been playing the PS2 port of Virtua Racing recently. (It is contained in the Sega Classics Collection compilation.) The game looks great - those untextured polygons have actually aged pretty well - and it is still very, very fun (and very, very fast). After a lot of practice, I was able to take first place on the "Big Forest" track last night, and I suspect I will be able to win the "Bay Bridge" track soon. The advanced "Acropolis" track is going to take some practice, however.
Started up Ratchet & Clank Crack in Time. This series has been a blast since the second game and up. This one is my roommates favorite I think, I'm definitely digging the new mechanics and love seeing some of my favorite characters play a bigger role (a certain villain and more Qwerk haha).
I traded a few last gen things I just didn't take to and knew I'd never fully get into (including the aforementioned GTAV on the previous page) and made about an even swap for Fire Emblem: Awakening for the 3DS.
This is the first one I've played, though I'm familiar with the general genre. So far so good. Seems fairly deep. I've only played a few battles but I like how even on Normal, the easiest setting available, the CPU doesn't take it easy on you. They will focus on killing one character instead of haphazardly attacking your group in a somewhat random fashion. I have the game on the "Classic" setting, where there's no take backs if a characters dies, so I'm nervous and excited for the challenge!

Playing this to improve my Japanese. I've never played any version other than 'New Leaf", so I'm not sure what to expect. I'm hoping there are still a lot of collectibles and villagers to talk to since that's kind of the point of me playing this...
It took me the entire day yesterday to get past the introduction, so this may take me a while.
